How can you counter Anti-Magic Arrows? It specifically says that "Cards and effects cannot be activated in response to this card's activation.". Say it's your last turn and you activate union attack for your final combo. Then Arkana counters with AMA and since UA's effect activates at the start of the BattlePhase it would be negated. I know that you can use the Piranha+GotM combo, but is there any other way?

You can't counter it. That's the point. Once its played, then your kind of screwed.

I use Vassal and 3 other spells (2 Union Attack and 1 Secret Pass) in last turn, and he didn't use it.

Interesting. Konami will probably fix that later tho. But for now it's good to know that we can use the UA combo.

It says "at the Start of the battle phase" you play Union etc in your mainphase. Arrows cant be chained on them!!!!

Read again anonymous user #3. The text says "Spell/Trap Cards AND THEIR EFFECTS cannot be activated".

In other words, it doesn't matter if you activate UA in your main phase. Its effect still takes place on the battle phase.

Just because an effect is used doesn't mean it is always "activated." Union Attack is activated only once, during the Main Phase.

Union attack increases your monsters attack at the start of the battle phase. Ergo it activates in the battle phase.
