Pegasus was dead in the manga and NEVER return. Why is playable in the game? Because the game Source is the Anime. You only need read the dialogues for understand this.

Duel links is based on the system kaiba created in the manga, but based on character lines such as Rex having one for tyrant dragon, I belive the game crosses anime and manga cannons

tristian and duke will never be playable together theyve had the sum total of 1 duel which tristan lost i think solomon muto only had one as well with professor hawkins so hes prolly out too

2: Duel Links is not based on the Game in either the Original Anime or Manga. It is based of the game in the VRAINS Anime
3: Kaiba calls it the Neuron VR System, that has nothing to do with Duel Links

Who ever said that they had to be from the manga? Besides, Tea never dueled in the Manga (Mostly off panel duels do not count) but she is playable in the game.

Why are people so bothered by these characters just because they are supposedly "fillers"? The game clearly follows much more the anime line than the manga.

As much as some don't like them, they are far more likely to appear in this game than some manga-exclusive character like Yako Tenma.

Supposedly, Yami Yugi would never have lost to Rafael if he hadn't used the Seal of Orichalcos. It's a script way to give the moral lesson "If you hadn't done something bad, you wouldn't have lost. But you did, so here are the consequences".

Yugi Muto was the only one who legitimately defeated the pharaoh without any excuse from the script behind.

With the GX characters virtually confirmed, Dartz and others have a good chance of appearing.

Many of the concepts of GX and 5D's are thanks to the unique arcs of Duel Monsters anime. Like Pegasus alive and Spirit Monster World.

But seriously... People have to understand since GX, Yu-Gi-Oh! no longer has "fillers". This was true when Duel Monsters was no more than a manga adaptation like all the others. But since the franchise grew and expanded, things have become very different.
The DM anime created its own universe, independent of the manga, and for better or worse, this universe became the main base for the products.

Honestly, I could argue that this started towards the end of Season 1 of the Original Anime, although granted, it became super apparent starting in GX.

To have some characters from Waking the Dragons will be awesome! The updates on characters like Mai or Joey were awesome!
Lets not talk about including decks from Dartz and his team...
I think this will take time though... there are so many characters not available from previous episodes not even appearing, so it would take time till Dartz
