Gadget Arms | Decks and Tips

Honestly this bad card is only SR because it's from an event. If it was a box card I bet it would be N lol

Also, rating -B for a card that will see 0 play. This rating system is so laughable. A pathetic monster, that is not even a morphtronic, that give you access to all terible magic/traps morphtronic cards from grave. Common rating would be more appropriate. The only use it has is for new players to convert it for some coins and super rare jewels without thinking it.

I hate bs total affirmations like "will see 0 play". It allows a D Former deck to reuse excellent spells and traps like "D Former Speed Unit" that lets the deck destroy an opponent's card, and "D Former Cord" that has infinite destruction for spells and traps.

Really? You believe a flip effect monster will ever see play in this fast paced game? We are not in 2003(TCG) or 2018(DL). And then what? Get back a mediocre spell/trap? You simply run 3 of each trap/spell you need to draw them fast. If you expect to recycle them using a pathetic monster so to use them after a whole turn good luck. The turn you set the monster will most likely be your last one.

I am sadly used to this sort of bizarre thinking. Flip monsters are still widely used in DL today. If you think setting a flip monster means losing the duel, what the hell can I say. It's logic so horrible I can't even begin to describe. You're acting like setting a flip monster means the person who set it has what, a completely empty field and completely empty hand other than the flip monster? Wt

The condition in which Gadget Arms would be useful, is very specific:

1. You need to have a "Morphtronic" Spell/Trap already in the GY, meaning it's likely not early in the Duel.

2. You need your opponent to attack into this card, or let this card stay on the field so you can flip it on your next turn. Having your opponent attack into this card is easier to occur, so let's go with that.

3. Once you got attacked, and the "Morphtronic" Spell/Trap is back into your hand, you have to survive the turn, otherwise it's pointless. Can't use the Spell/Trap if you already lost, after all.

4. And you have to waste your Normal Summon/Set of the turn for this card, which combined with the need to survive the turn, means you better already have a strong monster on the field.

It won't see 0 play maybe, but it sure won't see much play. In most situation, you are better off with hoping you draw into another copy of the "Morphtronic" Spell/Trap you want, instead of trying to fetch it from your GY.

Think about it for a moment. We already have the much more generic Magician of Faith and Mask of Darkness. Why does no one use them?
Anoymous
Everything you said is right, except the "waste" and "no one ". I use Mask of Darkness and I will use Gadget Arms. Why? Because recovering key cards is important. A "Morphtronic" deck is one that special summons a lot, so it can afford to have Gadget Arms as normal set. I am defending this card because I like the deck and think it has a little use, enough to be above 0. No anger intended.

D Formers are able to fill the board with beaters off the three little enablers, Movahon, Scopen and Sumahon. It gives a lot of field presence enough to allow for normal setting Gadget Arms. My Rua deck won't be topping anything, but it can defend itself, and has some value. I don't need it to face the big crew decks. I'm satisfied using it and that's enough.

That, I can approve. I like your view and attitude about the deck :D

Very much appreciated.

You have my appreciation too. Despite my objections about this card, I like how you see your deck. I feel the same about my ojarmed dragon deck or agent deck. They rarely beat the tier decks, but I enjoy using them and when I win a duel it feels so satisfying.
Anoymous
Thanks. I also enjoy both Ojamatch and Agent decks. And I also like how they get some cards that can be put in them everynow and then. It's good to think how to use the new cards. So yeah, decks we enjoy using have value and forms to hold their ground decently.
