This is the first time I reach Legendary rank. At first, I thought I would try to climb to KOG (just to get the icon), but after a few games, I realized that I would not face any other decks rather than the ones posted here. So when everyone plays the same decks (with some tweaks and modification), it comes down to RNG. You might beat CA one game and lose to it in another game. Luck plays an important role from match making to your draw. I managed to climb to Legendary Rank 3, but I think it is too stressful to push myself too much. Now, I don't care about KOG and wait for the rank reset so I can enjoy various kinds of decks in Platinum.
Exactly what I do every season sometime I get to KOG with luck but then again always the same top tier decks roaming around legend rank (what do you expect most people try to get to KOG when in Legend) but if I make it I make it if not then its okay. I'm really playing for the sake of fun not for the sake of glory.
Incredible how some are quicker to make an excuse than persevere. This has been one of the most diverse meta ever (just look how many different decks we have) and people are still complaining to justify their failure. "it comes down to RNG" you said; how about observing which decks are played the most when you try to reach KOG? How about teching in the right cards to counter those?
Hou about changing your deck based on what you are seeing? Of couse lucky plays a big role here but you can always lower your reliance on luck by changing your deck and getting better with it (a dumb player with Ninjas will always be outsmarted by a clever player playing the same deck). The game has very few viable archetypes, but from what the game has offered you can't complain about THIS season
The metagame is kind of diverse now, so technically you have a shot at KoG with any good deck of which you have quite a few to choose from. The only actual possible issue to reach KoG I can think of is the 5 win streak requirement and how quick you can fall of the ladder to Legend 1. Some people just don't have the time to keep trying, but clearly may others actually do.
I play the game for fun, not to be more stressed. I don't mind losing if I get to see various kinds of decks against which I enjoy dueling. Even though you said this is the most diverse season, how many times you go up against hammer shark beatdown, or psychic? All I face are GB, CA, Phoenix, Burn, AG and hazy flame. And as I stated, you may beat GB one game and lose to it in another game. RNG.
Sadly those trying to hit kog needed to use a consistent deck hence all the CA GB AG etc.. unless you stay in gold and below if you prefer play for fun instead
I always make some change in my deck. I even use variety of decks when dueling. Many times I got matched up with a deck I have no counter or my counter cards didn't want to cooperate. And when this happens and you try to push yourself too much, it's not fun at all.
I congratulate those who have strength to reach KOG, but I realize that is not for me if that glory comes with something unpleasant.

I congratulate those who can reach KOG, but I realize that is not for me. I don't want glory if I have to lose my mental health.
