Ascalon is broken when you can use its effect multiple times per turn and it can still run 2 trunade + 3 CC. A big banlist is needed to hit every single meta deck including this one if Konami is serious in selling XYZ.
To all who said that dragunity should be on the banlist, have you ever thought about what is dragunity's weaknesses? That deck has lots of weaknesses, let me mention it all: evil eye selene, D.D Crow, artifact Lancea, Witchcrafter, Necrovalley, Kychoo, Chaos Hunter, backrows, and of course totally weak against Lunalight.. If dragunity can't OTK, they will mostly lose on the next turn
Just use sphere, temperance, or hollowed barrier trap (i forgot its name) to protect you from being OTK, and on your next turn set backrows (karma cut, fiendish).. if dragunity player can't cosmic, lance, or night beam, they will lose for sure.. that deck has lots of weaknesses, i just can't see it on the banlist (why don't they just limit hey trunade to 1 instead of dragunity card)
More like Trunade tier 2, all the other OTK decks: CyDra, Blackwings, Lunalight, all can't use Trunade without crippling the deck, but Dragunity can do without the equip.
There will be no hey trunade if there is no backrows, i bet all of people always grind every time their backrow deck manage to disrupt people's combo.. but it's funny to see this backrow players complaint like a kid when their backrows are being trunade
Senatus won't be in the banlist - it's a non-splashable structure deck SR and needed for first turn plays. However, I do think Dragunity won't escape the banlist as a whole. Maybe Mystletainn or Barcha will be limited to 2, and/or Sphere Kuriboh will be limited to 3. Destiny Draw might get a harder condition to activate too.
The only thing that needs to be banned is gems rewards from PvE events.
If lowly F2P want gems to buy cards then they must come get beaten by us in exchange.
It's unfair that they receive gems while hiding like cockroaches.
Anyway, I've come back to admit I was 🔥ing wrong. Senatus just got limited to 2.
In my defense, I gotta say that Konami decided to go ape sh*t against the meta as a whole. Crystons, Shiranui, Dark Magician, Invoked and Karakuri have just been wrecked.
I'm not saying that at all. I'm just surprised that Konami decided to be so harsh all of a sudden.
Also, some decks did avoid new additions to the banlist, despite also being part of the meta - Blackwings, Cyber Dragon, Blue-Eyes and Witchcrafter, most notably.
Konami miscalculated with their last round of nerfs and they are making it up this time by completely killing decks like invoked, Crystrons, Karakuri and Shira.
"Konami miscalculated with their last round of nerfs"
No miscalculation here. Not everyone had bought the new shiranui box, the full meta versions of tier 0,1,etc..
The amount of Shiranui, Invoker,.. sold just recently reached the expected profit margin to trigger the already prepared banlist.
