"oh god you see?
As long Lava golem dies komoney will release new burn archetype and no one can stop this cycle!"yeah just dont nerf lava and dont release new burn types.
In real life, the play style is to beat down the opponent during Battle Phase until opponent has little LP left, then overlay during Main Phase 2, and use its effect to burn the opponent for game.
The thing is in TCG after battle you can still summon monsters during main phase 2. Meaning you only need to put your opponent to 800 LP and below then you can just xyz to cowboy in MP2 then activate his effect for lethal.
Cowboy can actually use both of its effects in the same turn, it's just that most of the time you won't waste a position change card in order to use both, as it doesn't really make sense from a card advantage perspective.
But I actually did that back when Dueling Network was a thing, my Cowboy got negated by Fiendish Chain on summon and I used a MST on it on my next draw phase.
You are stupid. I said you can IF YOU CHANGE THE BATTLE POSITION, MASSIVE IDIOT. If you have a Cowboy in defense, you can detach for the 800 (400) burn, and if you get it into attack position the same turn, you can use the attack position effect. Holy 🔥, duel links only players are damn stupid.
The effect itself is once per turn. Both of cowboy effect is the part of the same effect, isn't it?
Unless you flip it face down, there is no way to use his effect twice.
I'm a noob and I still don't understand: Is it possible to activate both effects or not?
Let's say, I start with a face-up Defense Cowboy. Then I detach 1 material for the 400 damage. Then I switch back to ATK. Will it have the ATK effect or not? It's currently in ATK position but when I applied the effect it wasn't. That's very confusing.
^While the effect does depend on the battle position, you can only activate the effect of detaching a xyz material once per turn, so you can only use one effect per turn.
