Not “just”, it’s a 3200 beater you can easily make in one turn using weak monsters that aren’t bricks and when the overlay units wear off and he’s still in the field, you can regain his overlay units with Overlay Regen and make him 3200 for more time.
Yes, it is the same because a beater is nothing special regardless of how easily the opponent summoned it. And this one is a little weak due to only 800 def. Its only purpose is being a beater, no strategies involved. Unless they release some plant monsters that give additional boost when used as xyz material this is nothing but a beater without support, there's nothing to understand.
No, it’s not the same. Man. I can’t believe there’s someone saying this. God. Imagine saying a 3200 beater summoned in 1 turn is the same as a 3200 beater you need to wait 5 turns to summon. Everything else is irrelevant to this. It’s simply not the same thing. Heck, even a beater that takes 2 turns to summon and one that takes 1 are not the same. Same means that it’s equal. 2 and 1 are not equal.
But you can just use Karma Cut (or similar cards) to get rid off any beater. I guess that's what the Anon above means with "same". They're just beaters without any protection and can easily be removed.
That’s true. But if so it’s not the same, it’s similar. Anyway this new Tomato deck should be running Rose Archer for that, she’s level 3 too so it’s multiuse for this plant deck around rank 3.
If it’s a difference it’s a difference. It could be a pure aesthetic difference and it’d still be a difference. It could be 2 cards with the exact same stats and effects and properties but one has a longer hair or whatever so they’re still different.
Beaters with no effect will never be relevant nowadays (unless they had so high atk that could otk on their own). if they were then everyone would just be playing united we stand and enjoy a 2400 atk bonus on any weak monster. You could achieve 3000 and more attack first turn this way with certain decks. However beaters, especially ones with low defence, are simply too counterable in current meta.
