Shadi was never a duelist in series 1. Perhaps in series zero or in a manga but in the first series he never once dueled nor did it reference the fact that he had ever dueled. He simply was a spirit of a dead guy who protecred the items. I like him and would not mind him as a character. He was definitely one kf the more attractive male characters,but I have my doubts he will be added.
Mokuba, Serinity (ahe needs to be added because there are not enoug females), Yugi Muto, Tristian all at least were known to have dueled or at least were seen dueling. No evidence or contect clues in ay series 1 episode hinted at Shadi dueling. I paidvattention as I rewatched the series recently and I never saw him duel nor did any line of speach indicate he had ever dueled.
