(1/6) Wtf non-canon does not mean not real, you completely miss my point. So far in DM we only had manga-canon chara. As there were little or no updates in DM in past 2 years it was admitted by many that DM would not have new chara even though there are a few canon chara remaining and MANY non canon chara (orichalc, KCGP, Noah's arc...). One possible conclusion was that non-canon chara would not

(2/6) be added at all. And if you look at comments about new chara that have popped up regularly on this website, you could see that many consider that chara from Orichalc could not show up because they are not manga-canon, even though they are well appreciated. People do the same comments on me when I ask for Noah Kaiba who is my favorite chara in DM. That was fine, that was a valid point, UNTIL

(3/6) KCGP, which is not canon, appeared in the code. That’s it. Now the discussion about canon/non-canon is ridiculous because you guys do not understand what it means. Why do I say that? Look at this quote ”it happened in the anime and is official canon there”. It does not mean anything. What does the term “canon” add in your sentence? Nothing. This is official, yes, but not canon. If you

(4/6) look at pages about Naruto or One Piece animes for example, you will see that many episodes are referred as non-canon. It does not mean they don’t exist, or that they were produced by another branch, or without the consent from the mangaka or whatever. It just means that the story depicted in these episodes is not from the original material, i.e the manga. Here it is the same. KCGP, Orichalc

and Noah are anime inventions. They are good arcs, but not from the manga, that’s my only point. This is the definition of non-canon for an anime, and has nothing to do with whether it is real or not. And btw, Noah Kaiba’s event is never mentioned again after it happened, and you can watch the entire Zorc’s arc you will see no mention of Orichalc or KCGP (as if these arcs had not happened :p)

(6/6) while we talk about Pegasus and Marek. Probably a choice from the anime writers to avoid altering the original arc. Because it should not have happened, even though it was fun to watch.

as for Orichalchos/Noah arc characters, the biggest reason why they're likely not coming is not because of their "non-canon" status, but because of their own deck. Raphael, some of the Big 5, and even Noah himself already have pretty much all of their cards in DL meaning nothing relevant can be used as drop and level up reward. Valon's deck just doesn't work outside anime.

Alister's cards are entirely anime-only, and he has no game appearance with a printed deck, unlike Blair and her Lightsworns. So far, characters like Alister are not in DL.

This leaves Dartz himself as the only possible character, and with how Shunoros is already in as N rarity, and how it's unlikely they'll make a new world for just one new non-reskin character, I'm not seeing him coming.

by the way, I requested for both Duke and Atticus.

They could give, for example, Raphael a skill that adds Eatos to his deck during duels just like most 5D's characters have with their respective aces, I have a feeling this might be what they do with Axel Brodie soon. Also, if Tea DSOD having witchcrafter rewards is any indication, level up rewards and drops don't need to be directly related to the character. I'm just speculating tho.

I'm not talking about ace card because they most likely will do Axel the same way as with 5Ds and Zexal character ace cards - available only through skill, if you want a real copy, go open the box.

DSOD Tea's deck theme is "female spellcasters", a broad theme, so Witchcrafter kinda makes sense for her. Raphael's deck theme is solely "Guardians", which is way less broad.

I mean, you could pretty easily genericize Raphael to "equip stuff" in the same way you boiled Tea down to "female Spellcasters". This is, of course, not even considering the fact we've gotten characters with much less-defined themes already anyway. We have 2 different variants of Mokuba, who has used like 5 cards in the anime ever, none of which are drop rewards for him. It's not rocket science.

1/ Well, except if you are a developer for Konami, you don't know what are the reasons why these characters never appeared. These are hypotheses, just like mine. Their cards already are in the game, but 1) you can edit new versions (see Dark Magician's, Blue Eyes, Neo, etc) and 2) propose cards that were not played by the chara but related to his deck (Konami regularly did it). Until code edit,

2/ manga-canon was a valid hypothesis in terms of game balance (even if it sounds arbitrary): if you plan to add all chara then you will end up with a world too populated (compared to others). If ever you manage to add all chara, because with 1 update/15months it would be pretty slow. That's why I am happy to see they plan to do a separate world for KCGP (possibly including Orichalc).

I think Mokuba's theme is taken from games that do include him as a duelist.

Kinda like how Blair has Lightsworn cards because she played Lightsworn in Tag Force.
