The buster blader in the pack is only treated as buster blader whilst on the field, so you'll have to use 2 tributes before poly. That means paladin will cost 5 cards to summon... That's 1/4 of your deck.
Can't you just use fusion substitute cards instead of Buster though? It doesn't require all the proper fusion materials like some Fusions do. You can probably fit some of those into a Dark Magician deck without much problem.
Yeah, that's the smart choice. Play a Dark Magician deck and add Earth-Hex Sealed Fusion or Goddess with the Third Eye, Beastking of the Swamp etc to fuse with them instead of having to use Blader.
