Hello,
I happened to attain this card; however, what I would like to know is if the programming code is flawed or not. See, when I tried to attack my opponent, they activated Enemy Controller. I, of course, expected Dark Paladin to negate the spell card, but you see, this did not happen. Twice. Strange thing. So, in a duel against a standard, world duelist, I played one of my own spells when Dark Paladin was on the field. Now, the spell should have been negated (or, it should have granted me an option to discard one card, in order to negate), but it did no such thing. Is this card, perhaps, flawed? --A game bug maybe? What are your thoughts?
The card say "You can discard 1 card; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it." So basically, what happen is you can't negate that effect even after discard 1 card. It is something common actually, for example using sergeant electro effect to negate activation of set card, but still there is few cards that can be activate once electro done that. To name a few, like econ and etaqua.
Also, even when my opponent activates a card such as "De-spell," when Dark Paladin is on the field, I still cannot negate the spell card, though I possess cards in my hands. This makes no sense, and I can only presume this is a bug.
i just played against kaiba with paladin in the field and when he activated enemy controller twice paladin negated it's effect. maybe it was a bug but has been fixed?
Yes, I did try Dark Paladin in PvP duels; yes, his effect did work, however, the same is not veracious for standard duelists in the Duel world. But, I suppose that shouldn't matter to most people.
Just built a deck around him, and can confirm his effect appears to be working properly in PVP. So long as you have any cards in your hand and he's face up on the field, you should get a prompt.
Got prompts for despell, Econ, Order of charge . . canceled them all :)
