well we have the 2k guy from flame of the tyrant and susa soldier as well. i think megalosmasher x is just as good if not worse than the aforementioned 2k beaters since megalosmasher doesnt have an effect

we have 6 :
susa soldier returns to hand, can leave your field empty, also only do half of battle damage.
gaia soul and skull conductor destroys itself at end phase.
unfriendly amazon needs a tribute per turn.
boar soldier needs to be flip summoned, also decrease it own atk per enemy monsters.
flash assailant decrease it own atk per cards in hand.

yes, having an effect is better than not having one. would you rather have heavy knight of the flame or dunames dark witch? obviously, the effect monster. same thing applies here. unfriendly amazon, flame of the tyrant guy, and susa soldier > megalosmasher x

megalosmasher is generally better than them as beater, because it has less drawback.

you can.t rely on beaters on the current meta anymore mate. Everyone in higher tiers are relying on special summons. You can get this card on the field and the next turn i.m just gonna special summon a 3k beater

Because you need to tribute each of your standby phases. Leaving you with a field disadvantage. At least megalo has a few more options, two man cell battle, order to charge etc. With all the special summoning these days I opt for the latter.

Hello. Correct, yet the condition is you can't control any s/t. Thus leaving you vulnerable. In the current format thats a huge downer. Especially with all the special summoning around.
The reason I mention two man cell battle is it is the best swarming card for normal monsters. Megalo is one of it :)

why would u use amazon-frog combo if u can ss stronger monster without wasting your 1 monster slot just for a tribute loop. unfriendly amazon is SR because it was the only 4* monsted with 2000 atk at the time. it's effect is clearly a drawback.
all current released 4* 2000 atk monster have a drawback effect. 1850 atk (gagagigo) is the highest atk for 4* monster that is usable w/o drawback.
