If I use blast with chain as one of the tributes to summon her, does the trap's effect go off, or does this not count as an effect?

(edit update) I just tried it, and sadly, it does NOT work. It doesn't matter whether witch raider destroys the spells/traps or not. It's a shame, because it would have been a good combo to 🔥 an opponents monster along with their spells/traps.

you tribute the trap, not destroying it. tribute =/= destroy

That is the thing. I had thought that it would go off if they counted her destroy s/t as an effect, but it is just looked at as the tribute.

Yeah, because you end tributing the card instead of "destroying" it.
