Just to confirm, genex controer is not consider a normal monster right? So it can't be special summon by Brain but can be used to special summon Brain

tuners are considered effect monsters unless stated otherwise iirc

Tuners does not affect whether a monster is Effect or Normal.

Easy tips:

Yellow border is normal monster
Orange border is effect monster

Same concept applies to blue purple white etc
