Just made it to KOG with scraps. Let me just say, scraps are tricky to play with but don’t underestimate them in Duel Links. They are very fast & have amazing recursion. I don’t want to give away my deck but here’s a few tips.
1) Run as many Chimera & Scrapstorm as you can along with 1 Soldier. Send soldier to the GY using storm. Then all your Chimeras become Junk snychron for Twin Dragon
2) Run The Tricky (I run 3) to make an easy Twin with Beast (2 is best) or Orthos (1). Tricky also works around bricks, sets up GY, & is essential for Synchro spamming.
3) Every other scrap monster can either be excluded or run at ONE. Multiple Golems/Orthos will brick.
4) Green Baboon combos well with this deck=quick easy games especially vs Shien.
5) Understand the timing of card activations
All in all, this has become my favorite deck to play & it’s disappointing to hear so many people complain about them. Don’t give up on Scraps.
They are trash but not garbage.
3 is consistent for me, but I built mine AROUND the Tricky & Chimera. 1 of everything else except shark, Kong, breaker. Also, keep in mind that scrap combos are convoluted but very flexible. It took some trial n error before I figured out how to play them properly even with my current build. Practice
Thanks I'm new to scraps and I've been trying to run builds but they've been inconsistent. Luckily I have three copies of the Tricky. What card is the soldier you mentioned?
Scrap Soldier is a LV 5 tuner from the new box. Run 1 & send it to the GY via Scrapstorm from deck or The Tricky from your hand if you happen to draw him. Then you can spam Twin dragon with Chimera + Soldier or Tricky + Beast/Orthros
Happy to help :)
I want more diversity in the game
And the builds on this site are pretty mediocre i.e. the “Example Deck” listed on this page
Ah ok got it, thanks! Going to start testing it out. And I agree, it's very generic here. I usually try to find comments like yours for the more creative builds to build off of.
When I’m playing Green Baboon, like to use Life Points Alpha for that extra 1000 or Bandit to steal their back row & meme with Bandit Keith. Other than that, Restart & Switcheroo work pretty well
Thank you so much for the scrap tips! Your suggestions are both really effective and innovative! I was wondering if you could give me any suggestions what spells or (if any) traps you generally use or if it's just 3x scrapstorm and 3x field spell
First of all, thank you all for your positive responses :)
I really appreciate your input & it’s nice to see this friendly side of the community. Now to answer some questions.
1) Because it is a synchro-reliant deck, it was hard finding room for backrow without tampering with the consistency. I did find some success with minimal backrow, such as Treacherous & Hallowed Life Barrier.
2) I apologize to anyone wanting me to upload my deck list, but I prefer offering suggestions because of two reasons.
A) It gives you a more comprehensive idea of how to play which helps diversify & foster creativity for new play styles. There is more than one way to play any deck & I’d like to learn what you can come up with :)
B) The main reason why I play this game is to see originality.
That’s not to say Kong doesn’t work, I just didn’t have time to test him much. But I would like to see if you can come up with a Kong/Baboon based Scrap deck. You may even be the first
One of my favorite decks have been scraps ever since power of bravery and your tips really helped fine tune it but I have one question, how do you deal with the cost of some of the cards? What I mean is that way too many times I use all my cards turn 1 to summon the twin dragon and then if they just eliminate it my opponent can win way too easily.
Okay, I got an idea to try King's Consonance from the new Jack Atlas event since scraps got good graveyard setup and I'll see how it goes. Though I was using Treacherous Trap Hole before and without that my deck doesn't have too much removal.
I run a pure scrap deck and I'll tell you this. If you are new to the deck no matter what build u make duel some of the auto ppl before jumping into rank duels. I think alot of ppl jumped right in and got crushed and gave up on them. Its really fun and super competitive deck when you get it down
