Can anyone tell me where the heck the expression "roll a box" or "roll a pack" comes from? cos I've never heard of this outside of gamea website.
I know what they're trying to say: 'roll' as in: "attempt to try for" but where the heck does that expression even come from? it's not a gaming term I've heard of.
GameA is full of professional meme-ers, philosophical minds, and cultural riches, that there's a level of transcendence outsiders will not easily understand. Have faith, not questions.
"Roll" is an extremely common term in the community of virtually ANY mobile game that has a luck-based feature that allows you to get something based on rarity.
Roll,as in Roll the dice, it's an expression in any luck based mechanic such as drawing cards from packs in the shop, where you get random rewards based on RNG. Good luck, don't trigger the desire sensor and pray to RNGesus!!!
It has its origins from pen and paper RPG where everything was calculated from rolling dice. The term has been adopted in modern RPG games eg. In WoW you roll for loot. You wouldn't use it in TCG but for mobile gatcha type games it is commonly used as you are essentially rolling a random number generator.
