Enemy attacked me I activated enemy controller and tributed kidmodo dragon.

Hey guys my enemy attacked a face down "kidmodo dragon" with a "silent magician LV7". I activated an "enemy controller" and tributed "kidmodo dragon" to get a "silent magician LV7" on my field to defend on his next attack while also having the effect of "kidmodo dragon" and special summoning blue eyes but only the effect of kidmodo dragon was pulled off ? Why is it the effect of my enemy controller didn't went through ?

Silent Magician LVL 8 is not affected by the opponent Magic Card effects.

That's why your opponent Silent Magician Lvl 8 wasn't affected by the control switching effect of your Enemy Controller even when your Kidmodo was sacrificed to fulfill the Enemy Controller effect requirements.

Tip: Read the opponent card effects carefully while playing a duel to check if your strategy will work

Silent Magician Level 8 (not 7, but that's alright :) ) is not affected by spell cards that target it like that. So while Kidmodo could activate, and that was a good play if you had a strong dragon for it, Enemy Controller wouldn't affect the Magician.

But if you want to become better, keep in mind basic things such as reading card text carefully etc.

Silen Magician LV8's effect says that it is unaffected by spell effects. Enemy Controller is a spell card so neither it's first or second effect would work on Silent Magician. This is why you should read your opponent's cards' effect if you are not familiar with the card yet.
