super rush interaction

I had a game,I had a face up atk fire king yaksha
my opponent an defense flash assailant he used his rush on his decleration but then i chained with my own rush but then the only monster that got destroyed was his monster
is this a glitch or what.

Its a chain reaction and resolves backwards: he activate srh and the you active yours when the chain is complete it start to resolve so your srh activates destroy his monster and when his srh is about to resolve there is no monster on his side to get the effect. Check this:

If it was your battle phase your super rush headlong has priority and since his monster is destroyed his super rush headlong no longer activates
