So, I did some math with respect to whether it is plausible to continue grinding the KC cup or it is safe to stay at your current DP and consolidate your rank. I am currently 10295 DP which eqautes ro rank 571.
My goal is top 1000 and the current rate of devaluation of rank at my dp level is 13.4 Ranks/ Hour for the past 24 hours. Considering there are 11 hours left for this cup and considering that the rate of dp devaluation is increasing In the magnitude of -0.5/Dp/hour/hour I have come to the conscousion that anyone currently in the top 650 spots is almost guaranteed to remain in the top thousand if they were to stop playing right now
I think you've gotta take into account that there is going to be lots of players going for last minute points so I wouldn't count yourself safe just yet, maybe in a few hours from now
The reason to consider this is that at this rank a single loss drops you almost 200 spots. A win naturally beings you up almost 200. However, if you are aiming for the top 1000 it is reasonable to reach rank 650+ and stop playing in an effort to ensure that you do finish at the top 1000 . IF you are rank 650 - you need to win 1 more game asap to releatively confidently ensure a top 1000 spot
You are right my friend thats why I took something called a second derivative which calculates the rate od change of the rate of change.
The one factor that I do not know for sure is whether the tournaments ends 00:00 eastern or pacific time. I assume it is easter because thats when my game goes into maintenance but I really dont know how they do it.
