thats where you are wrong .... the only thing that the other version are better than DM are the animation drawing quality commensurating with better tech equipment. btw DM is not the best, the best is the season zero yugioh where they have mix of different games. nothing else are better and the worst of all is 5D. mind you i watch all until Vrains (mostly for funny broken 🔥 new cards)

5Ds got good response from outside Japan.

In Japan, freakin' ZEXAL has better record than 5Ds. Don't ask me how, I don't know how that happened either.

"DM is full of cheat and unoriginal rules" is kinda incorrect considering the rules weren't set in stone yet during DM era, especially early ones (Duelist Kingdom era)

Kaiba was a jerk and Yugi was too good. He won every duel *spoiler* ( until he lost once near the end ) if anything Joey was the best character in the show. He had a more emotional reason to duel in pegasus’ tournament. And unlike Yugi he practiced to get good.

Kaiba was a jerk throught the series. atleast manjoume, jack, kaito, reiji recognized their protagonists as friends (and waiting for revolver). people are "yugioh dies after synchro and 5d" thanks to 5d yugioh still existing today, read about the story in those years, the arc of dark signer was going to be the last thing about yugioh thanks to the high acceptance we have yugioh today.

Agreed, 5D is the start of the evolution of yugioh and evolution is one of the main reason people still play this game.

Kaiba was great and awesome and amazing character he was better than Chazz, Jack and Kaito in everything

Duel monsters was more trial and error with plot devices and mechanics. Also every protagonist but Yusaku cheated as everyone else obtained cards in the midst of a duel and used them. Yusaku has a skill which allows him to do the new card schtick in a more fair manor as it only works in a speed duel under certain conditions.

Pretty sure the guy who won world championship used a DM themed deck to counter the meta
