You know, there probably IS a middleground of players that feel "obligated" to buy cards, but aren't whales...

Personally, I've only spent 3 bucks on this game (a second D-HERO Structure), and haven't felt the need to spend more, despite being more than able to. (Part of that's because I feel packs are overpriced, part of it's because I think they're more than generous with gems anyway.)

Ughhh, im f2p but i never want to pay any cash or play sylvan. like hell u just flip a card to win while i dont draw a single remove card effect card. this deck liturally based on luck. even a noob who faced me one day played mashalleaf in TURN1 to activate its effect and threw 2 rose lovers!!!! And of course, he won with his F luck

When 75% of your match is against Sylvan is the very definition of OverPowered. Why would a lot of people play sylvan if it's not that OP. Look at Cyber Angel on its glory. All people play cyber angel.

The OverPowered cards in any Plant deck are only Carrot Champion and Rose Lover. Carrot discards Rose to special summon him, then use Rose Lover to summon Sylvan tree or guardioak or Aromage Bergamot. Not sylvans that are OP. Like Glad Beasts must attack or get attacked to activate their effects or Gergia that must be flipped up and down, Sylvan must be excavated to do their jobs, that is all.

Concerning your definition of OP i just want to add that it's overused because it a lot more easier accessable to a wide audience. to build one of the very strong top tier decks you would have to spent like 1000$ or more (or you save all gems for only this one deck ignoring every other card box) so these decks are stronger than sylvans but only very few people can build them.

Simple, it's because they were not the problem to begin with.

Sylvan must be excavated to do their job, yes, but that has nothing to do with Rose Lover and Carrot. Sylvan can still nuke your board even without Guardioak and Hermitree, their low level monsters can excavate too.

sylvan is archetype. just like all the others. But sylvan is easy to make and difficult to beat. people who use sylvans are not doing anything different from others who use different archetypes. Sylvans are too good and is not limited to pay2win players.
