Wow, Konami is really going as far as they can with scraping the bottom of the barrel to avoid giving us the better modern destiny hero support (and the same can be said for the eheroes) like the fusions, fusion destiny, drawhand, dynatag, etc. I mean, this is fun, but it's not really going to do anything and this is stuff that could have come a long time ago.
I think they were more afraid of giving us the field spell. They don't like stall strategies and that's probably why they didn't gave us Clock Tower Prison earlier. Even though it's very slow.
Yeah, it's a bit late now. Here's what you can basically: 1. Just create fun deck to hear Aster's voicelines. 2. Try to create some scummy Destiny Stall deck with counter traps to protect the clock. But it probably won't be that great. Hopefully a selection box will have more.
It's crazy we've been playing this game for four years now (you're valencia/aster lover, back then, right?) and there's still this HUGE gap when it comes to better support archetypes for the first two series. 5ds has few notable ones still missing like Yusei's scarecrow card, but GX and DM really had it worse.
All I can say is that I do not care for how it's changed since then. Now it is almost nothing new but decks that need hokey anime skills to get a crap ton of resources just to function halfway decently. It feels like we went backwards and we'll never get the variety we had back before the ZEXAL started that bandwagon when more characters could do everything and it wasn't just about promotion.
Personally i believe the best season was late 2018 until mid 2019. Back the we had about 3 decks in tier 1 and 7 decks in tier 2 & 3 lists. We didn't had these anime skills (i find them "ok") but almost every single deck was using the same 3 skills (Isizu and sealed tombs was every where). Now, we barelly have 4 decks in tier list...
After they went too far with some things in DSOD, they got too scared and pedaled back, and we seemed to have hit the point of no return. I remember the sealed tombs. But even then there was still more being used generically. Now it's almost all "use destiny draw".
