Geartown : -This card can easily be counterd by dust tornado or any other chainable cards, if you chain dust tornado to its initial activation or choose to set a spell/trap by dust tornado's 2nd effect even if you don't chain it to geartown's activation geartown will miss timing for its 2nd effect, dust tornado is a great card in many decks, especially in traps heavy decks. -Ancient fairy dragon doesn't make this card miss timing unless you add a field spell to the deck. -I don't know if you can summon a lv 5 or 6 AG monster without tributing if geartown is face up on the field but I don't think so. -I think you can send ancient gear castle with 1 less token to the amount required to summon an AG monster from ur hand but I'm not sure tho.

Why would you think you couldn't Normal Summon a Level 5-6 Ancient Gear without Tribute? You pretty obviously can.

the card doesn't affect levels like A legendary ocean, the card says summon a monster with less tribute required but nothing about not needing to tribute a monster in the first place, so 1 less tribute for a lv 5-6 is normal summon, it's not like you summon it with less tribute, it's like you summon with no tribute at all.
I also could be wrong.

technically less tribute for a lv5-6 is 0 tribute but here you will change the summoning mechanics from tribute to Normal summon as you don't need to tribute at all, you will actually normal summon the monster instead of tribute summoning him with less tribute, the card also says normal summon a monster so it doesn't have to be tribute summon so you could be right, its text is just confusing to me

I'll tell you more: if both you and your opponent have Geartown active, you can Normal Summon Ancient Gear Golem without Tribuiting. Seriously just check the Rulings before coming here, it's much easier.

- You can Summon a Level 5 or 6 "Ancient Gear" monster without offering a Tribute.

Anything that happens in a chain will happen anyways so even if the card is destroyed it will still allow you to summon a monster.This is why yubel can miss timing even though she has a "when" as her evolution summoning effect isnt part of the chain

......There's a difference between "When....You Can" and "When" that's mandatory (no "you can").

The former can miss the timing, the latter cannot, even though it's "When" and not "If".

Any card that says "when, you can" can miss timing.
The destruction of this card need to be chain link-1 to not miss timing, being chain link-2 or higher will make the card miss timing.

This is completely wrong, and I suggest you to look up the ruling of "miss the timing"

@Makrov krauz: 2 floodgate 2 canadia 1 cosmic cyclone 1 dust tornado Enough for countering? Or would it be safer to add one more dust tornado or cosmic cyclone? (I'm going on the assumption that the AG spells and hats are the main problem here.)

On the other hand, I think this deck is good but far, very far from tier 0 since most of power creep decks such as archfiends, buster blader and blue eyes tend to be bricky.
