Not sure why is this 9.0 rating. In paper, the synergy of the card's effects is just awesome, but in terms of momentum, like a race who gets the better or higher ATK on the field, its presence is not really threatening nor sufficient. The effect of drawing cards is OP yes, but what would you do if you only draw spells/traps, or lvl 4 weak monsters? Good for "tailored" decks, bad for the general purpose ones.
I'm sorry son, we normally keep her in a cage with the other beasts. (Brings out cattle tazer) "now you get back in the cage you little 🔥 or we torture cecil"
back in the day was pre-Cyber Dragon, but it was great.
but yeah there's a reason they released a bigger version of this card later (Neo-Parshath, the Sky Paladin, 7*/LIGHT/Fairy, 2300/2000, can tribute with 1 mat if that mat is "Air Knight Parshath", piercing, on damage: draw a card, gains ATK/DEF equal to difference between LP if your LP > opponents LP and "The Sanctuary of the Sky" is out)
to be exact, it was used as a way to deal damage during a meta that had a lot of chump blocking (Scapegoat, etc.), but not a lot of high damage piercing. its main competitor in the 5-6 star department was Vampire Lord, so your choice was either going for a personal buff (Parshath) or an enemy debuff (Vamp)
My only issue with this card is that, even at the time back when this card was first printed in OCG, it would have been fine to be a Level 4 monster instead of Level 5.
Why did they made this card Level 5, I guess we'll never know.
