match(yesterday) : plays same deck as opponent(3 star demo dm)
result: opponent use 3* demotion plays dm, sets 2 cards ends turn. my turn i have 1 jester 2 soul exchange 1 econ 1 cv.
the 2 set cards might be cv so I use soul to bait him twice,he had 2cv!! so I play jester and econ take his dm, atk win, this game takes skill too pal
if i had not had a little skill, I might not think his set cards were cv, if i had not had a little skill, i would not come up with the idea that my soul ex would be useful even if I didn't have a tribute monster, I would have played differently, this is 1 of the reasons why some players are in different ranks, given the same situation, some win and some lose, so why are you "lol"ing?
it's not luck based but id hardly say that it's actual skill lol. the game is like 90% luck 10% skill at most. point is the duel is outside of your control in the large majority of scenarios and comes down to starting hands.
I'm not denying that luck doesn't play a role,it is a big factor, but it's not 90 to 10,people build decks in a way to reduce the chances of bricking aka "meta",(ex:balance),if u brick 3 out of 5 times then either u are extremely unlucky or there's something wrong with ur deck, mostly both players get some good and bad cards at the start, the rest is up to knowledge and how you play and respond
there are so many instance where I had 🔥 cards and set useless cards to trick opponent I had mirror wall or something, some ppl really took the bait and I made a comeback, not everyone use tactics like this, they might forfeit or don't set anything thus losing the game
I remember some time ago when using mill deck, if i can survive one more turn i can win. i have two card on my hand and no monster on my side, 1 dead card and other one is etaqua, opponent have 3 strong monster, and he have 1 card removal. I learned that people tend to choose one card that set first to be removed. So i set dead card first and then etaqua.and he remove my dead card,I win.
