let me guess, the monster you tried to SS with Anima are Rituals that you never summoned properly first

You can only special summon Ritual monsters if they were Ritual summoned first.

how come it doesn't special summon them? it doesn't state on the card that they should have been summoned first. it just says banished.

Also, it's very hard to distinguish which one of your ritual monsters in your graveyard was actually summoned in the field. usually, i just use evolution to summon slayer and fodder another slayer from the deck to search for origin and then dump anima. i would then summon a ritual and then use one of the slayers in the graveyard, try to use anima's ss but guess what, it's the wrong slayer. smh

Yeah, they should include a symbol to show you which one has been Ritual Summoned

There is a symbol indicating that card can't be special summoned from GY in the left upper corner when it's in the graveyard...
