Engineer is an underappreciated card. Of course w/ no Giant Rat, he's not worth the sacrifice realistically, but I always kept one around my old AG decks as a jnk (just in case). Not like we aren't rocking MASSIVE back field protection cards right now & Crowler's basic Skill = free tribute summon going 2nd.
Isn't geartown a viable option to summon engineer without a tribute? I'm working on an ancient gear deck, and I'm using geartown and Crowler's basic skill to justify a lot of cards I'm using.
Giant Rat exists and it also searches Pathfinder which searches Geartown. Engineer's target trap immunity makes him continue to be one of my ace cards.
Engineer sucks today. Was ok before 2 years but now is crap. It has pathetic stats and only offers a m/t destruction if it succesfully attacked AND survived. Giant rat and pathfinder are also TERRIBLE cards in ancient gear decks. Too slow and with 0 quarantee that their effects will resolve. Competitive Ancient gear decks are P2W decks since all you need are 3 ancient gear stcucture decks.
