It's impossible to play anything after plat that isn't meta. With this last event everyone and their mom's have 2 lava golem. Burn is being played so much that ninjas (remodeled) or CA are the only thing fast enough. Was playing glad beasts but it's not fast enough.

I agreed with you. Kog reach that title with luck and meta. One of the joy of playing this game, winning with your own deck. In the anime, do you see joey, kaiba or yugi using some meta decks to win? The anime was projecting every individual should have their own characteristic deck style of their own. Like joey with his luck theme deck.
