Yugioh has been making busted field spells for many years now, it's one of the reasons Ancient Fairy Dragon is now Forbidden in OCG and TCG lol

I mean, yes, there are a lot of broken Field Spells. But none of them (aside from Black Garden) are relevant to why AFD is banned.

You’re thinking of old field spells that either had some gimmicky effect or some mediocre attack boost. Field spells these days are play extenders that search combo pieces.

we have divine wind in the game which is one of the cards that got AFD hurt (in non duel links formats) to start with. Also mystic mine

There are many field spells relevant to why AFD is banned.

In fact, we're still getting crazy good field spells in OCG/TCG to this day, exactly because AFD is now banned, so it's kinda safe now to release those field spells.
