Yes, it is reference to the anime where all TG monster is dual type where one of it is machine.

It's also the reason why some T.G. monsters' attack name has "Machinery" in it even though they're not Machine-Type.

Like Wonder Magician's attack name being Machinery Magic and Power Gladiator's attack name being Machinery Slash.

The dual type gimmick is allegedly aimed at exploiting Double Type Rescue.

However, the Trap got nerfed in DL. In the Tag Force games, its condition is controlling 2 different types. If it remained the same here, you could exploit the effect by requiring one single monster with two types (thanks to the Skill).

But now, you need 2 monsters anyway. Thanks a lot, Konami.
