This wasn't the most garbage event in the game, at least. Tag Duel events tends to give us unexpected pairing as opponents, which often result in funny lines.
of course it's better than PvP, things like KC add nothing new to the game, instead tags duels add 2 new cards (but most of the time useless and over-rated) and funny lines like someone said. Problem is they give very few gems. Funny the facts that the most boring events which are the PvP ones are the most profitable if you look at the gems reward.
This is normal. Losing in PvE events provides no frustration to the losing player. But, losing to a player because he owns cards that you don't have creates a feeling of injustice.
Afterwards, knowing that you could easily own the same cards with money incites you to pay.
Thus to level the playing field you may end up using your wallet.
A basic gaming psychology, where human frustration is key.
This kinds of explains why there are more people who ask for ban lists and all each time a new PvP event is released. As opposed to what happens when a PvE starts.
