^I think other duelists that were not mentioned will be an event. It's kinda weird that Syrus isn't included here since he's one of the sidekicks of Jaden in this series.
This is official, by Konami. Not a data mine. They would tell us if Syrus would be in duel links. It's a little bit like Tristan, even though Syrus duels in the anime more than once
