I heard that Aster lost his duel with Chazz on purpose because someone threatened to tear down an orphanage if he won. But I don't know for sure if it is true or not since it has been forever since I saw that episode, and I haven't gotten that far into watching the original Japanese version yet. Could someone please confirm whether that was true or not?
How can you say that? He could be a jerk, but ultimately, Aster was a sweet guy. He worked hard to avenge his father, helped out Jaden and friends, and donated his money to other orphans.
Originally but when they were told to stop being serious then Jaden showed up and stopped the manipulating manager and they could continue playing seriously. I've seen the episode multiples times cause it is one of my favorites from GX. Overall, season 4 was pretty solid.
Thank you for explaining. It's been so long since I've really watched GX that I couldn't even remember that I COULDN'T have seen this episode back then thanks to 4Kids and their shenanigans with cutting out season 4. I'm watching them all in Japanese now, but I'm not even up to where Aster shows up yet. But this duel's outcome makes me sad AND happy.
No, problem. I'm really glad 4Kids didn't touch it. It was have been so bad. But it kinda sucks for Aster fans cause he loses but you get to see the Final D being used. It's great for Chazz fans cause you get to see him progress as his final bit of development which is nice. I enjoyed the mini arc between them.
