Deck Advice

I plan to create a casual-ish deck, do you think this would work: 2x Garlandolf 2x Ritual of Destruction 1x Dark Necrofear 3x Veil of Darkness 3x Djinn Disserere of Rituals 3x Djinn Prognosticator of Rituals 1x Sonic Bird 1x Senju 1x Doomsday Horror 1x Mirror Wall 1x Windstorm of Etaqua 1x Twister How it works: Play Veil of Darkness, and whenever you draw a Djinn, activate its effect and draw a card. Your graveyard will be filled with Djinns and you will draw at least an extra card for each turn. Then you can summon Garlandolf using Djinns (of Senju/Sonic if necessary) and if you do, Garlandolf will be unaffacted by trap cards and whenever it inflicts damage to your opponent, s/he will discard 1 card. Since Garlandolf destroys all monsters with lower DEF than 2500, he is almost guaranteed to directly attack your opponent first turn resulting >2500 damage + and (-1) for your opponent. You can also special summon Dark Necrofear since Djinns are DARK fiend-type monsters. And you can use all the banished Djinns to empower Doomsday Horror or bring them back. Do you think that would work?

Also, I forgot to add this: Summoning a level 7 ritual monster is an -2 for you unless you add Thunder Dragon which may slow down your deck since switcheroo is nerfed but this deck turns ritual summoning into a constant +1 for you while creating a -1 for your opponent. And it uses graveyard very effectively. Though these are all speculations, I don't have all of those cards yet.

What if when you use Veil of Darkness, you pull your Garlandolf? Lol

You are misinterpreting your advantages.
Veil of Darkness sets up your grave.

However, it isn't giving you a "normal" advantage.

It is sort of complex to explain.
A "normal" advantage is one were at the end of the day you are in the Green/Plus side!

Your deck naturally produces a huge disadvantage.
Veil of Darkness is going to help you blunt that disadvantage to a small degree.

The advantage you will get is in the sense that your disadvantage will not be catastrophic.

You are blunting your decks huge deficit.
You are reducing it which is an advantageous thing.

However, It still doesn't get you in the Green.
You still in the Red/Deficit side.

Summoning Garlandolf is -1 for you if everything goes according to plan!

You will have your graveyard set up.
Everything in the world will be in line.
Your summon will be -1.

Summoning Garlandolf can be -4 for you if everything spirals into an endless abyss!

This can happen because of the levels of your monsters.

For example:
Lets say you go turn 2.
You have the below 5 cards in hand.

-Garlandolf ritual card
-Garlandolf ritual monster
-Djinn Dissere
-2x Djinn Prog

You decide to Ritual Summon.
4 cards go to your grave.
1 monster stays on the field "Garlandolf".

It is a -4 card play.

Your opponent than activates O.T.C.
They 🔥 their monster and yours.
You are left with no cards in your hand.
You are left with a sad lonely field.

It happens every day!

Even though, I have told you all of these things.

I want you to know that I do think Garlandolf is an awesome Boss monster.
I think you can make an awesome deck with Garlandolf.
I understand you are thinking of using this deck for casual duels.

However, Garlandolf decks have hit King of Games before!

They have some very explosive potential.

The question is will your new idea featuring Veil of Darkness be effective?

I haven't seen anyone else use such an idea with Garlandolf.
It seems like a creative original idea.

Have you done any test with your deck?

Thank you so much for your advice and no I haven't done any test with this deck because I only have 1 copy of Djinn Prognosticator of rituals and 3 copies of Djinn Disseere, but I am trying to get 2nd copy of Mirror Wall so I will probably get a couple more djinns during the process. So this deck is more like a "side-project" while I am trying to build a main deck.

(continue) And I think -4 can be dodged by never summoning Garlandolf when you do not have adequate amounts of Djinns in your graveyard. You can set Djinns to stall the game for a while since it won't matter if they get destroyed.
