You know the name of the game in the Anime/Manga is called "Duel Monsters," right? Not to mention that it's pretty clear that all the characters from the original series are alive during GX, and Jaden receives his Flying Kuriboh from Yugi, who he later duels. I was initially opposed to them adding GX so soon, but now I don't think it's such a bad idea.
Some people grew up with DM, some with GX. It all depends on our age pretty much. Us older gamers like DM but I'm not quitting over this. New rewards etc....sure bring it on!
GX is better than DM in the way that the rules are official, DM in the begin was only a real time war without any rule. GX has a lot of good cards and WILL change meta. SEE YOU, IF U REALLY LIKE ACTUAL RANKED WITH TOON, REBD AND PHOENIX DECKS ONLY
I love how people can say GX is not ygo, when GX reached greater heights in terms of how many people played the game, bought merchandise, and watched the tv series. Not to mention how the first season of DM was just one big cluster of illegal stuff. If you count the first season, every main character cheated, and the lack of rules was everywhere. GX established a system way better than DM did.
