Don’t know about that chief. I remember the first Synchro monsters being garbage when they debuted in DL. Makes me me think that the first XYZs monsters will be mediocre too until later boxes.
Not really, OP has a point: When syncros arrived they needed a special type of monster (tuner) and whatever card that could special summon itself, we had few
XYZ in the other hand need no special kind of monster and we already have tons of card that special summon themselves for nothing and many other archetype that do so (the cheaper being constellars).
Just goes to further prove my point that OP’s conclusion is wrong. Komoney isn’t going to release the powerful XYZ monsters right of the bat, that would break their game, especially if they’re easy to summon. It’s more likely they’ll gives the trash ones first and slowly release better ones.
True, Utopia is better. But also remember that Stardust Dragon was only accessible by skill initially, and wasn’t real see in a box until sometime later. Probably going to lock ace monsters behind a skill again to balance them because they make your deck more inconsistent.
