Evaluation

Rating7.5/10

Pros

  • High attack 1 tribute monster that can be further increased depending on your opponent's spells in the graveyard.
  • Effect can be activated again when it is special summoned.
  • Attack increase lasts until it is killed instead of only for 1 turn.

Cons

Tips

You can increase it's already good attack by using Kaiba's skill "Peak Performance" or "Beatdown".

Use A Wingbeat of Giant Dragon to destroy all of your opponent's spell/trap and summon it again by tributing your monster or with Soul Exchange to increase your attack by banishing the destroyed spell(s).

You're right, no one runs Twister, Enemy Controller, Order to Charge or equip spells...

I assume you just started playing right? And that you have a 30 card deck with only monsters? Yeah, I've been there too once.

Not sure if this is a bug but this card loses its atk increase after being affected by suijins effect. (Not sure about kazejin and sanga). Happened twice against Vagabond and lost because of it :(

I think it is buggged. It also happens if you use Half Shut for example.

DaSwifta Reply
Not a bug, cause those effects return it to it's original ATK when they wear off

Mill the opponent's deck, and hope you milled a few spells XD

Really, the manga version is much better since it absorbed opponent's ATK instead of spells in graveyard. Essentially Riryoku on a body.

It's specifically magic attack that it absorbs, which doesn't work in real life, so they substituted it with Spell cards instead.

Although, I guess they could have made it absorbed the ATK of Dragons and Spellcasters.

Absorbing the ATK of Dragons and Spellcasters definitely would be a more faithful representation of its weird manga effect than what we got.

I think it's glitched. You can't elect to target 0 spell cards. I'm sure that should be allowed. It ruined my Cross Attack plan with The Fiend Megacyber.

DaSwifta Reply
No, it doesn't say "you can target" it says "target" meaning you have no choice but to do it if it's possible
<< Anonymous(Joe)

Yea, there's a difference between optional effect and mandatory effect: the words "you can". If those words exist on an effect, then the effect is optional.

This card doesn't have those words, so the effect is mandatory.

This guy is a glitch. So good.

You do know what a glitch is, right?
ZeldaRu
Does it have to be 5 or up to 5 spell cards?
<< Anonymous(ZeldaRu)
Anonymous Reply
Up to means up to. That being said, the effect is mandatory, and you can't choose to target 0 if there are any in there, so you'll have to pick at least 1 if there are any.

Banish those spellbooks before your opponent does I wonder what resolves first tho

Everytime Fate first.
Even when we would reduce Fate's spell speed to 1 and making this monster spell speed 2 as chain to Fate, Fate's cost of 1-3 banished Spellbooks would take first everytime as Cost take place before Effects(this monster's effect) do. So no counter to Spellbook(same for Dyna of FH).

Kinda sad that this card is no longer that good, it looked cool.

More like it was never good to begin with, which is actually more sad.

This would be awesome in a Peak Performance deck... 2400 atk to start + however much is gained from the effect.

Oh yes

This guy looks like the lovechild of Slifer and Red-Eyes. And those just so happen to be 2 of my favorite all time cards (with Red-Eyes being first) so this one definitely deserves a slot up on my top 10 list. Anyway, this guy is really good for duel links, and I think I just came up with a brilliant idea for a Lord of D. deck.

I really love this guy :) He is my ace card

Normal summon count as tribute summon right? I can see Kiba Deck being a viable option. This card I believe is the best 1 tribute monster in the game right now it was that insect 2350 before. I can see it now use either heavy starter/peak/beatdown skills and use limit impulse/soul exchange to summon this monster and than equip shooting star bow and boom atk your op lp directly for that 2k+ of damage and combine with support cards like release restrain waves/storm and shadow scout for that spells discard for a increase chance of increase attack.

Dragon deck incoming. We have Rex deck, Mako, Harpies but no love for Dragon deck yet. :/
