The unique effect of Gladiator Beast monsters allows them to switch places with another Gladiator Beast monster from your deck. Monsters summoned by this effect get access to an additional strong effect. The strategy of this deck revolves around picking of your opponent’s monsters, spells and traps one at a time. Because the low level Gladiator Beast monsters aren’t that strong on their own the deck runs a lot of strong spells and traps to hinder your opponent from destroying your monsters and allowing them to tag out.
Even with more Gladiator Beast cards added during the event, the new support they got was not enough to boost them to the top of the tier list. However the new support was able to give them a boost in maintaining card advantage which could help them in a long game.
Your starting hand will reflect the card balance of your deck. This Skill will not activate unless you have at least 6 of each type of card (Monster, Spell, and Trap) in your Deck.
From the third turn and onward, you can see the opponents card as long as your Life Points are 3000 or Higher.
You receive no battle damage during your turn.
Gladiator Beast Darius is great for swarming the field with Gladiator Beasts. When he is special summoned from the graveyard you can revive a Gladiator Beast monster but with it's effect negated. Since there is no main phase 2 in Duel Links you would usually have to wait till your next turn to fill your field and fusion summon your monster.
Another use for Darius is recovery, revive a monster you want to return to the deck. And then when Darius leaves the field, even with his own effect, the revived monster is also returned to the deck so that you can special summon it later.
Gladiator Beast Heraklinos' effect also requires you to discard a card from your hand to negate an effect. And Fusion summoning also drains your card advantage. So to keep your hand count up you will need lots of search and recovery.
All Gladiator Beast fusion monsters are summoned through contact fusion, meaning you need to control the needed cards on the field and you shuffle them in your deck (you don’t use polymerization).
Every Fusion monster in this deck is great in terms of offense. Additionally, they do not need Polymerization to summon just return the fusion material monsters face-up on the field back to deck.
Because the Gladiator Beast monsters need to survive battle before being able to activate their effects, it’s important to run strong cards spells and traps.
Changes multiple opponent's monsters to defense making your opponent unable to attack during their battle phase.
This trap helps you even the playing field for your weaker monsters. It’s also devastating for people that swarm the field and don’t play around it.
Aside from your fusion monsters these Gladiator Beasts will be your main attackers, because they relatively high attack or effect that help them in battle.
Gladiator Beast Bestiari - Amazing Gladiator Beast monster as it allows you to destroy your opponent’s spells and traps when it’s special summoned. Don’t forget that you can’t tag out this card for another Gladiator Bestiari in your deck. If you run this deck with the skill Mind Scan you know exactly which spell or trap to target as long as your life points are 3000 or above.
Gladiator Beast Murmillo - This card is the main way for Gladiator Beasts to deal with high attack or annoying monsters if you can’t summon a Gladiator Beast fusion monster. Even though this card has very poor stats, most decklists still run two copies of this card. The reason for this is in case you draw or start
This skill helps you play around your opponent’s backrow and decide exactly which spell/trap you want to destroy with the effect of Gladiator Beast Bestiari. Keep in mind when attacking into monsters in defense position (to activate the Gladiator Beast effect) that you won’t be able to use Mind Scan anymore once your life points drop below 3000 life points.
This skill prevents you from taking any battle damage during your turn. This allows you to attack freely into your opponent’s monsters (either in defense position or in combination with Impenetrable Attack/Half Shut when attacking an attack position monster).
When playing against another Gladiator Beast deck, one of the most powerful plays you can make is when both of you Gladiator Beast monsters battled (and survived) you activate Enemy Controller at the end of the Battle Phase and tribute your monster to take control of theirs, this will allow you to shuffle their Gladiator Beast into their deck , and special summon one from yours.
