If a Spell/Trap you control leaves the field because of an opponent's effect, and is now in the GY or banished (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon this card from the GY (if it was there when that Spell/Trap left) or hand (even if not), then you can Set 1 Spell/Trap that is banished or in your GY to your Spell & Trap Zone. You can only use this effect of “Mana Dragon Zirnitron” once per turn. If Summoned this way, banish this card when it leaves the field.

Tips

  • You can choose the Spell/Trap card to retrieve with Mana Dragon Zirnitron. It does not necessarily have to be the Spell/Trap card you opponent removed.

Counter

Galaxy Cyclone can destroy an opponent’s backrow then banish itself from the graveyard to destroy another one of your opponent’s backrow.Use Mana Dragon Zirnitron to retrieve reuse Galaxy Cyclone from your banish zone.

Spellbook

Retrieving any Spell/Trap card in your graveyard or banish zone could be very helpful in a Spell/Trap reliant deck like Spellbooks. You can use Mana Dragon Zirnitron to retrieve Spellbooks banished by Spellbook of Fate, or Spellbook of Fate itself if it was banished.

and that's why you're not KOG, if you still have the mindset that ATK is everything.

Not having high ATK does not always matter, if the monster has very good effect/utility, then it's a good monster.

Note that the card you Set with Zirnitron's effect does not have to be the same card that left the field because of your opponent's card effect.

So for example if your opponent banished your Set WoD with Cosmic Cyclone while you have a Floodgate Trap Hole in your Graveyard, you can Set that Floodgate Trap Hole instead.

But always remember the game rule, you cannot activate Trap cards on the same turn you Set them, unless a card effect says you can. Zirnitron does not say you can.

Would look so nice as a Prismatic, too bad the only way to guarantee the box SR you want (SR Dream Ticket) doesn't include a Prismatic foil.

In the very far future you can, if I recall correctly, recently data for prismatic SR Dream ticket has been datamined.

But like I said, it's definitely only gonna be available in the very far future. Konami tend to give Dream Tickets only for very special events.

Yeah, the "if it was there" and "even if not" parts were so unnecessary.

The card text would still means the exact same thing without them, and would be far easier to understand too.

That's PSCT for you. Occasionally it only creates more problem than solving any.

Most famous example would be the confusingly redundant text on a few of the Dark World monsters.

Now Koa'ki is being nerfed, this is going to be cropping up in Amazon decks everywhere to counter AG / Dinos. It'll be like they have 3 Onslaughts again for those decks.

Not gonna change the meta anytime soon, as currently the meta is not fit for this card, thanks to Koa'ki and Ancient Gear.

If this card appeared one or two mini boxes sooner, this would have shown some presence in the meta for sure.

Maybe yes, field spells are spells too, and there's no limitation on what kind of spell can trigger this card's effect.

The Field Spell Zone isn't a Spell & Trap Card Zone. You can't target a Field Spell with it.

Oh yeah, didn't notice the Spell/Trap Zone being specifically mentioned in its effect. So Field Spell indeed won't work.
