Red-Eyes Buster Blader: deck recipe

Duel Links Breaking News
Duelist Chronicle GX event guide!
update 22/05/2019

Overview

Buster Blader and Red-Eyes are an interesting combination that, thanks to the introduction of Black Metal Dragon and the Skill Light and Dark, is now a lot more viable. This deck takes advantage of the classic combination of Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman and DNA Surgery in addition to a “Red-Eyes” nucleus that offers an alternative line of play whenever the Continuous Trap is not available

How to Use

Searching

Buster Whelp is a Level 1 Tuner that, when Normal Summoned, allows you to add a “Destruction Sword” card from your Deck to the hand. Normal Summon Buster Whelp and add Destruction Swordsman Fusion to your hand.

You can Tribute Buster Whelp to Special Summon a Buster Blader from your hand or Graveyard; this effect can Special Summon Buster Blader, the Destruction Master from the Graveyard, since its name is “Buster Blader” while he’s on the field or Graveyard, but not from the hand. If you control a Buster Blader, you can Special Summon Buster Whelp from the Graveyard by discarding a “Destruction Sword” card, giving you access to a Level 8 Synchro.

Keep in mind that you can only use one of these last two effects per turn and only once during that turn, which means that you can’t Special Summon a Buster Blader or Buster Blader, the Destruction Master by Tributing Buster Whelp and then Special Summon the Level 1 Tuner from the Graveyard via its own effect.

Destruction Swordsman Fusion is essentially a Quick-Play version of Polymerization that can only be used to Special Summon Fusion Monsters that specifically list “Buster Blader” as Fusion Material (Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman, and Dark Paladin), but, unlike Polymerization, it allows you to use as Fusion Materials monsters from your hand and/or either side of the field.

As I mentioned, Destruction Swordsman Fusion can be searched via Buster Whelp, which you can add to your hand via the Skill Light and Dark by returning Black Metal Dragon to your Deck, and, if you combine it with DNA Surgery, you can use it to Special Summon Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman while also getting rid of a monster on your opponent's side of the field.

Destruction Swordsman Fusion doesn't target nor destroy, which means that Diamond Core of Koa'ki Meiru (or any other card or effect that would normally protect your opponent’s monsters) will be completely useless against it. Even if your opponent decides to negate Destruction Swordsman Fusion (Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En, Silent Magician and Silent Swordsman), its secondary effect allows you to add it back to your hand from the Graveyard by simply discarding a card.

You can equip Black Metal Dragon from your hand or field to your Red-Eyes Slash Dragon (or any other “Red-Eyes” monster you control) to make it gain 600 ATK and enable its effect.

If Black Metal Dragon is sent from the field to the Graveyard, you can add 1 “Red-Eyes” card from your Deck to your hand. If you do not want to commit to the board right away, you can just Set your Black Metal Dragon and wait for your opponent to destroy it.

Due to the fact that Black Metal Dragon’s effect cannot miss the timing, you can also Set it, Tribute it via Enemy Controller, take control of an opponent’s monster, search Red-Eyes Fusion and Special Summon Red-Eyes Slash Dragon.

You can return Black Metal Dragon to the Deck to add Buster Whelp of the Destruction Swordsman from your Deck to your hand and vice versa.

By sending 1 “Red-Eyes” monster from your hand or Deck to the Graveyard, Red-Eyes Insight allows you to add 1 “Red-Eyes” Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand, except Red-Eyes Insight.

Use Red-Eyes Insight to search Red-Eyes Fusion. Keep in mind that you are going to need at least 1 Red-Eyes Black Dragon in your hand, Deck or field in order to activate Red-Eyes Fusion and Summon Red-Eyes Slash Dragon.

Red-Eyes Fusion allows you to Fusion Summon Red-Eyes Slash Dragon from your Extra Deck using monsters from your hand, Deck or field as Fusion Materials. Red-Eyes Fusion functions similarly to Neos Fusion, but, as the main difference, it completely prevents you from Normal or Special Summoning other monsters the turn you activate it.
Send Red-Eyes Black Dragon and Buster Blader from your Deck to the Graveyard to Fusion Summon Red-Eyes Slash Dragon.

When a “Red-Eyes” monster declares an attack, you can target a Warrior-Type monster in your Graveyard and equip it to Red-Eyes Slash Dragon as an Equip Spell. The Equip Spell increases the ATK of the monster it’s equipped to by 200.

Red-Eyes Slash Dragon allows you to negate the activation of any card or effect that targets a card you control (Karakuri Ninja mdl 339 "Sazank", Gale Lizard…) by sending an Equip Card you control to the Graveyard. This effect will trigger even if your opponent is the one declaring an attack with a “Red-Eyes” monster and even if Red-Eyes Slash Dragon already has a card equipped to it.

If Red-Eyes Slash Dragon is destroyed by a card or effect, you can Special Summon as many monsters as possible from your Graveyard that were equipped to it. If a monster was equipped to Red-Eyes Slash Dragon by another card’s effect, you will still be able to Special Summon it.

This Skill drastically increases the consistency of the deck, allowing you to go for Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman when DNA Surgery is available or when your opponent is already playing Dragon-Type monsters (Blue-Eyes and Red-Eyes), and for Red-Eyes Slash Dragon in any other case.

Weaknesses

  • DNA Surgery + Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman is the most powerful combination this deck has to offer. While the Skill Light and Dark do allow you to Summon your Fusion Monster more consistently, there is still no way to search the Continuous Trap.
  • Red-Eyes Slash Dragon is this deck’s only answer to back row and it’s not even capable of negating popular Trap Cards such as Drowning Mirror Force that could set you back completely.
  • If you activate Red-Eyes Insight and send 1 Red-Eyes Black Dragon to the Graveyard to search Red-Eyes Fusion, you only have 1 Red-Eyes Black Dragon left in your Deck, which means you can only activate Red-Eyes Fusion once.

"unlike Polymerization, it allows you to use as Fusion Materials monsters from your hand and/or either side of the field."
that's an error, poly can use materials from the hand. or else i'd be screwed.

Polymorization can't use materials from your opponents side of the field for fusion though. And the description is hand and/or opponents side.

i have every card on the list except the metal dragon. so i would have to spend MOST of all my gems just to get that card. lol no thank you. ill spend them as some of my gems expire but not worth it for me to get 1 UR card then reset and spend all the gems again. i rather save the gems for a new deck to run

And this is the reason why this game needs desperately a Card Crafting system.
Make creating an UR 1000 gems, I don't care, but at least you get the damn card you want for sure.

Only in your failed attempt of a brain this company is evil. And whatever you say is just product of your retarded prejudices, they even gave us Mahonj Munia Maidens for free and that card is TOP TIER right now. Ask the whole Duel LiInks Meta crew if you don't believe me.
