During your Main Phase: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from your hand. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this effect. During your Main Phase: You can destroy as many cards in the Field Zones as possible (min. 1), and if you do, gain 1000 LP, then you can add 1 Field Spell with a different name than the destroyed card(s), from your Deck to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Ancient Fairy Dragon" once per turn.

Use A Legendary Ocean to turn your level 5 WATER monsters into level 4 monsters which you can then special summon with Ancient Fairy Dragon's effect.
Use Zombie World to turn all your opponent's graveyard monsters into Zombies. Special summon Paladin of Cursed Dragon with Ancient Fairy Dragon's effect and revive a low-leveled monster in your opponent's graveyard to swarm your field.
Since having a good attack stat is usually more useful than a good defense stat, so you can use cards like Inverse Universe, Shield and Sword, and Ojama Country to switch these stats.
Twins Together adds Double Ripple to your hand which could be a good way of summoning Ancient Fairy Dragon along with Power Tool Dragon.

Use Spell Recycle: Field to return Field spells sent to the graveyard by Ancient Fairy Dragon's effect to gain LP back to your deck. An upgraded version of this skill is Field Restock which does almost the same as Spell Recycle: Field but this time it adds 1 Field card from your graveyard to hand and another Field card form graveyard to the deck. The downside is that you do not choose the Field spells to be added and you can only use Field Restock once per duel.
