Equip cards

Gearfried’s effects are reliant on using equip card. Here are some good equip cards to attach. Red-Eyes Baby Dragon can search Gearfried and be attached to him as an equipment card.

Equip Gearfried with Blast With Chain and destroy it so you can destroy a spell/trap card, and another card on the field. Intrigue Shield helps with survivability so that he doesn't get destroyed easily. It can then be sent to the graveyard from Gearfried's effect to special summon a Red-Eyes monster.

Swords at Dawn

When Smoke Grenade of the Thief is destroyed, you can look at your opponent's hand and discard a card. Swords at Dawn lets you re-use your equip cards that are in your graveyard. This lets you keep destroying your opponent's spell/trap cards, but activating Swords at Dawn will disable you from being able to special summon for the rest of the turn.

Man, really... I like Red-Eyes but some of its support cards are terribly broken. This one and especially that lightning rod demon are the biggest offenders. Why do they keep releasing broken crap ffs

It’s non-targeting spot removal that you can keep reusing every turn. This + Red-Eyes Slash will be a pain

What are some good equip spells to use other than black metal dragon? Black Pendant to inflict effect damage, blast with chain to destroy twice the amount of spells/traps. Any other ideas?

As GameA suggested, Smoke Grenade is good too, but we only have 1 from Keith lvlup.

Still not nearly as broken as Dark Magician or Shiranui, considering it uses up resources everytime you use the destruction effect, meaning you both have to fill your deck with equip cards for it to work consistently, and you also have to draw those equip cards consistently to get the effect, and in a Red-Eyes Slash deck there's no way to bring back your equip cards from the grave.

It's cool and everything but how can we use it with the current Red Eyes build? The only monster equipped with cards is RE Slash. The DD warriors are still way better in my opinion

Just use RE baby dragon.
It is the easiest way to use his/her (I don't know if this Gearfried is a male or female) effect.

All Gearfried are male. We know because there's a spell card that shows Gearfried releasing his armor.

It's cool and everything but how can we use it with the current Red Eyes build? The only monster equipped with cards is RE Slash. The DD warriors are still way better in my opinion

Theres an equip card for DSOD Joey designed to be used with this. I'm too lazy to check it's name but it gains attack based on monsters in your graveyard and when sent to the graveyard you can place it set back on the field. Basically designed to work with this.

Use 3 copies of cursed armaments.
This is an equip spell card.
When this card is sent to the grave it automatically comes back on the field.

=> Backrow popping + damage reduction.

Just to confirm something about the second effect.

Here, sending 1 equip card is a cost right?

So if the opponent used fiendish chain to negate him Gearfried will still be able to send the equip card to the graveyard?

For example, you try using the 1st Gearfried effect with "Smoke Grenade of the Thief". He gets negated by fiendish chain. Then you can use the 2nd effect to still send the spell to the Graveyard? Even if the special summon part is negated I mean.

Yes, you should be able to throw it into the gy...... though smoke grenade won't activate since it needs to be destroyed
