If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: Place 1 Guard Counter on it. This card gains 300 ATK for each Guard Counter on it.   • Attack is high due to its effect when summoned.
  • It can protect other cards from being destroyed due to its effect.

Cons

  • Defense is low which makes it susceptible to attack when switched to defense position.
  • It loses 300 attack when you use its effect on other cards.

Tips

Attack Boost


Mystic Plasma Zone

Card Guard will have 2400 attack when summoned along with Mystic Plasma Zone Field Spell Card. The defense decrease doesn't matter since Card Guard has a low defense to begin with.

Toon Kingdom


Toon Kingdom

Card Guard would be a great addition to Toon decks since it can protect cards from destruction. Toon Kingdom is the most important card on Toon decks and Card Guard give it an added protection while having a beater on the field.

Card Guard

You can use Card Guard's effect to other copies of it. The attack of the copy will increase up to 2200 and will have the added protection from being destroyed. It can also swap their Guard Counters so both of them can have 1900 attack and protection from getting destroyed.

Card Guard is a nice support to Gemini Monsters since it can give them survivability and time to gain their effects. These 2 cards benefits the most since once they are removed from the field, the monsters that is summoned by their effect will be destroyed.

Card Guard is bugged, when he is attacked guard token is not removed and Card Guard is destroyed.

If you run multiple copies, then I think they can protect each other and still retain the ATK bonus.

Why the Guard Counter does not Prevent Mirror wall destruction when nota paying the LP cost? I missed something ir its a bug?

Because that part of Mirror Wall's is a Maintenance Cost. If you cannot/do not pay the cost, then the card WILL be destroyed and cannot be prevented from destruction by any card effect.

So? If someone uses a Divine Wrath on a level 4 that's a plus in my books. A level 4 that's worth burning a Divine Wrath and discarding a card for is a level 4 worth putting in your deck.

This thing can get you to plat easy. But things become more META oriented when you climb up. But atleast your not a gold scrub.

How is this only a 6.5? It's the new non-tribute highest ATK monster without negative effect, even a positive effect!

Not the highest with positive, and its effect only works when there is another card that needs protection.

Our first 1900 atk monster without any downside. Leo taur is 2k attack though so is still better. No one run normal monsters anymore.

^ Not to mention if they, oh I don't know, run Il Blud, Pehonix gearfried, Blazewing Butterfly, or any actual, gemini support, and know to wait. Leo is nothing to geminis.
