update 12/03/2018

The latest structure deck Destiny Rulers has been the perfect addition to the game to finally make Destiny Heroes viable on the ladder.
There are two possible variants, a beatstick version that relies on Aster’s Skill “Destiny Calling” and a fusion version that either uses the Restart or Destiny Calling skill, this version also runs Red-Eyes Slash Dragon.

How to Use

The beatstick version is pretty straight forward and works a lot like the Elemental Hero deck featured on our website ( ), using Cosmic Cyclone or paying for Mirror Wall allows you to activate your skill and get the field spell Dark City on your side of the field. There are a few reasons why you’d prefer the Destiny Hero version over the Elemental Hero version, but the main reason is for the effect of Destiny Hero - Celestial, which can refuel your hand later on in the duel when you are in a tough position. One copy of D-Fusion is included which can be very powerful if you have 2 destiny Heroes on the field because you can attack with both of them and then use the trap to summon Destiny Hero - Dangerous for a third attack. You can also use D-Fusion defensively if your monsters are targeted/affected by your opponent’s spells/traps.

When you use the fusion variant you’ll quickly notice how easy it is to fusion summon with the deck, often you’ll be able to summon Destiny Hero - Dangerous and Red-Eyes Slash Dragon in the same turn.
The featured decklist runs two copies of Cosmic Cyclone, which is preferred if you use Destiny Calling. Cosmic Cyclone is your way to deal with your opponent’s backrow so that it’s safe to attack with your big monsters. If you prefer more defense you can swap those out and run Enemy Controller/Super Rush Headlong and switch your skill to Restart.

Destiny Hero - Dangerous & Red-Eyes Slash Dragon

Although Vision Hero Trinity is also included in the extra deck, most of the times you’ll want to summon Destiny Hero Dangerous, and Red-Eyes Slash Dragon with the effect of The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion.

Although Dangerous’ attack is quite low, he can raise it with the help of his effect. His quick-effect allows you to discard one card and send one destiny hero from your deck to the graveyard to increase this card , and every other Destiny Hero’s attack by 200 for each Destiny Hero in the Graveyard. This effect is also useful to get Destiny Hero - Malicious, Destiny Hero - Celestial and Destiny Hero - Dreamer in the graveyard, three monsters that have good effects when they are in the GY.

Summoning Red-Eyes Slash dragon will always be done with The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion, and often the other fusion material will be your Destiny Hero Dangerous because that way you can equip your Destiny Hero-Dangerous to your Red-Eyes Slash Dragon , bringing him back if something happens to your Red-Eyes.

Vision Hero Vyon & Destiny Hero - Malicious

A great way to fusion summon is with Vision Hero Vyon. You can normal summon him to get Malicious in the graveyard, banish one Hero monster (not Malicious) to get polymerization in your hand and banish Destiny Hero - Malicous to get another Destiny Hero - Malicous on your field.

Dumping Destiny Hero - Celestial in the graveyard on your first turn is also a great way to set up for your future turns.

The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion & Powerful Rebirth

To use The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion’s effect you’ll need to have two monsters on the field (The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion included). That’s why Powerful Rebirth synergizes well with it, you can either get back The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion from the graveyard and normal summon a Warrior/Destiny Hero (depending on which monster you want to fusion summon), or get back a warrior/Destiny Hero from the GY and normal summon The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion.

If you normal summon The Dark and special summon a warrior with Powerful Rebirth (to fusion summon Red-Eyes Slash Dragon afterwards), pick Vision Hero Vyon if he is available so that you can use his effect to send a Destiny Hero from your deck to the graveyard again.

Because this deck can quickly fill your graveyard with monsters, Powerful Rebirth is also a great pick in general to put more pressure on your opponent, or quickly go for game.

Destiny Hero - Malicious, Destiny Hero - Dreamer & Destiny Draw

Although it might seem bricky to have two copies of Malicious and one copy of Dreamer, there are a lot of ways to get them quickly from your hand (if you drew them) to the graveyard for their effects, which is why it’s still worth it to run them in your deck. Mainly polymerization, the effect of Destiny Hero - Dangerous and one of the most effective ways is with Destiny Draw.

Destiny Hero - Celestial & Destiny Hero - Decider

The only two beatstick monsters in the fusion variant, and great picks to bring back with Powerful Rebirth if you are going for extra pressure/quick lethal.
Everyone who has tested out Destiny Heroes knows how amazing Celestial can be. Destiny Hero - Decider is included once because his effect (which can only be used once per duel) to add a Hero monster from your graveyard to your hand can be very powerful to bring back for example Vision Hero Vyon.

Additional Notes

A lot of the Destiny Hero cards have a lot of effects and text. Consider reading them carefully one by one before starting a duel, because you’ll quickly realize that there are a lot of plays possible when using Destiny Heroes, and you’ll have to think ahead about which monsters to send to the graveyard and their effects you could activate.

Unfortunately because of the way Konami set up structure decks, you are obligated to spend money on the game if you want to copy these example decks because you can only buy each structure deck once with gems. (Destiny Hero - Celestial and Vision Hero Vyon are only included twice and once (resp.) in each structure deck).

Other Useful Cards

Enemy Controller
Enemy Controller
As mentioned before you can replace Cosmic Cyclone with defensive cards like Enemy Controller and Super Rush Headlong, but if you do you should also consider changing your skill to Restart.
Windstorm of Etaqua
Windstorm of Etaqua

Curse of Anubis
Curse of Anubis
One of the ways you tend to quickly lose with this deck is when your opponent uses Enemy Controller to take control of your Destiny Hero - Dangerous or Red-Eyes Slash Dragon (if you can’t negate it), that’s why Windstorm/Curse of anubis are great defensive picks.

I find it hilarious how Anki, a Judai card, gets better use in an Aster deck lmao

I kind of feel sorry for Judai, but at the same time, I'm happy it helps Edo.

i agree! Judai's theme deck never get improvement since GX world open.

Before (Deck Rank)
Alexis > Chazz > Dr.Vellian > Judai > Aster > Bastion.

Alexis/Aster > Dr.Vellian/Chazz > Bastion > Judai/Jesse. sad!

The irony is that when GX first got released in Duel Links, Aster/Edo was the one who was stuck with basically nothing for his deck theme, and it was basically just Plasma decks. Judai/Jaden actually had more to start with in the beginning. But now it is more the other way around, but I think that they are starting to get better with the E-Heroes now. For more irony, my Aster uses E-Hero Woodsman.

I honestly think the same since Anki (Shadow demon) is a Jyudai's card.
Finally, a Destiny HERO structure deck has been datamined. Hopefully we'll get it soon.

It's about time. I hope that they also end up doing a Super Aster event to add more D-Hero cards. With that and a structure deck, we might be good to go then.

Lvl 40 Aster is actually Super Aster enough for me with his turn 2 Destiny End Dragoon in almost every duel. I'd probably barely make it against a real Super Aster deck. But as long as it would give more D-Hero support, I'd be happy with that too.

I had always imagined they might take the dragoon out for a super event since there would be other new powerful cards. Sort of like how they were nice about only putting clock tower prison for lv. 30. But I agree with you. I've gotten lazy with Aster because I got tired of dragoon usually just messing up everything. I've actually had way better luck farming Alexis. And my Aster is only lv. 36.

and still no masked heroes :l

konami didn't include cards that give plus so easly like mirror force, sakuretsu armor, dimensional prison, pot of greed, dark hole, heavy storm, because they want to make this game balance. so what happened if cards like masked hero dark law and his masked hero friends which give plus so easly enter duel links ?? it will be a meta deck so quickly.

3 Mirror Walls would be better but don’t want to spend money for them
Can we add a boss-Monster version? Like one that revolves around 3 tributes then win? I mean I play that one and it is pretty fun and a great win rate

It's not though.
I'm curious as to how these decks have a third Celestial when the deck set only came with two. Does anyone know how the get that elusive third copy and where it comes from?

By getting another copy of the structure deck, although the second time you need to spend actual money for it.
Can u use diamond dude effect with kuriboh multiply
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
No because it is a Quick-Play Spell.
Even after the structure deck, D Heroes are still about pro tactics rather than high attack lv 4 monsters. But here am I still using D Heroes with Neos Allius because of the synergy with Decision bringing back Neos Allius to hand, and Vision Hero Trinity working with Elemental Heroes.

That's what I like about the archetype, their playstyle is nowhere near straightforward. You won't believe the amount of players who still rammed their 2400 monsters at my Dangerous while I still had cards in my hand. Not to mention the Dreamers ready to serve from the grave. And Celestial, man, best card ever.
I'm not the man you used to throw around before.

You could run this with gravekeeper and transmodify or use Mystic tomato and summon it that way.
lol almost 80% of skills interact with cards
then don't buy it lol problem solved
No. This card's effect inflicts Effect Damage, so Spirit Barrier wouldn't protect you.
