how does his second effect work? Does it need to be solely crystal beasts in the GY to shuffle everything into the deck?
I am using grass is greener and caninetaur to fish out cards faster. Not great but works ok in KOG.

Ah ok! Thanks for the tip

you can use the second effect during your next turn... it will shuffle all cards on field into the deck including itself...
<< Anonymous
Tony D Reply
The effect doesn’t work in legacy duel links when you tribute summon it for rainbow dragon... the secondary effect only is available when activating “”” Ultimate Crystal Magic””” which is sad, because the the card clearly says what it can do and doesn’t do it... smh!

Are you talking about Rainbow Overdragon?

That's a different card than Rainbow Dragon.
This card is glitched in my game and has no attack points of effect so is emerald tortoise

So im new to this game and need this card for my deck. How do you get this card? Was it an event and if so can I not get it anymore then since the event it over?

There will be another Jesse event soon. You will get the card then.

Jesse event started today

Tbh there are better options. Rainbow dragon is not good for pvp. At best you will probably get to bronze with a rainbow dragon. You are better off with a different deck.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
The anon never said it was for PVP though.
It's a gimmick card. A bit less of value now due to age and a bit more hampered due to format (7 gems monsters - 20 card deck - 6 zones).

With the old 40 cards and ten spots on the field it was viable... but unless you add a bonus 'play' reward or adapt it to the new system than it'll be pretty much useless.

I mean the God cards are hard to play due to limited format and they are mostly used for point farming.

and of course there are better point farming decks than having one of those cards in a deck anyway... so very low expectations for Rainbow Dragon.

The fusion may have some worth, but mostly with fusion replacement material than actually using rainbow dragon.

And you can't cheat Rainbow Overdragon's alternate summoning method either, since it requires the right name + it's not a Fusion Summon but a regular Special Summon (think XYZ Fusions)
<< Anonymous

So pretty much a worse junk card than it already is.

So much for attempting to find a saving grace.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Well, there IS one saving grace: Over the Rainbow.

This thing might be worth it to summon if we can get Over the Rainbow spell card as well.

After summoning it, on the next turn you clear the field with its second effect, then since you activated Rainbow Dragon's effect while you control it, activate Over the Rainbow to OTK the opponent by summoning Pegasus, Tiger, and Mammoth.

tendo 7 cards de "Crystal Beast" com nomes diferentes no seu campo ou no seu Cemitério,
probably we never see Rainbow dragon for pvp:(
So hard to summon.

Just faced an 30 deck grass version with the meet my family skill (so 38 cards) and he wrecked me in a few turns. And yes, he did summon Rainbow.
Bet it'd be an op skill like "start the duel with 7 Crystal Beast monsters in graveyard" otherwise, not implementing this card at all.

Zero defense?? Seriously??
<< Anonymous(Inverse Master)

It's a GX era card. GX is the time when Konami just applied their first OCG/TCG banlist and therefore is being overly cautious with everything, out of fear that the banlist will grow larger.

(.....they clearly aren't thinking that way not long afterwards, looking at how big the banlist is now. Nowadays they use the banlist as a pseudo set rotation lmao)
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Anyway, that's why GX era cards tends to be really bad, especially in today's era.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
I don't see how that's a trait of GX cards in general. Their DEF, like in all series, is usually rather arbitrary. And really, it's mostly irrelevant to what makes Rainbow Dragon a bad card anyway. It's bad because it's hard to Summon, and forces you to use bad cards to Summon it.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
And that's what most GX era ace cards are.

Hard to summon, takes bad cards to summon, but in the end it's not that worth it.

Jaden's anime Hero fusions (his manga ones are great, though), Chazz's XYZ and LV dragons, Alexis' Cyber Blader, Bastion's Water Dragon, and of course Jesse's Rainbow Dragon as well.
Phoenix Fire
Some suggestion to build a stupid deck to summon this card for the missions event?
<< Anonymous(Phoenix Fire)
Anonymous Reply
Keep in mind that you can just duel a Level 10 LD at the Gate for this, so an especially good deck isn't required. It's pretty easy to complete all the challenges in one duel as long as you run a card like Sound the Retreat to enable Summoning Rainbow Dragon multiple times.
<< Anonymous(Phoenix Fire)
Parade Reply
TBH it's really easy. Transcendent Crystals ability, 3 Sapphire Pegasus, 1 of every other Crystal Beast, 3x Rare Value, 2-4 destruction cards (Parallel Twister/Crystal Raigeki), maybe a Rainbow Gravity.
<< Anonymous(Parade)
Anonymous Reply
Rainbow gravity does not count for the summoning mission, you have to summon it from your hand
Anyone try Kidmodo Dragon? To see if it overides the summoning conditions?

add tour bus from underworld to prevent that or use herald of creation / monster reincarnation
even Jesse doesnt play this piece of 🔥 card when i farm him; ok Gamea time to put those magic net-deck making skills to work and give us at least maybe a tier 3 rainbow deck
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Jesse (in the event) is not using it because it follows the storyline. He dont have rainbow dragon when he is dueling to collect those crystal energy.

I agree this card is not top notch, but it may not be as 🔥 as you think.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
yup youre right, maybe second event he will use it and more CB support for reward.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Maybe because it's summoning requirement is ridiculous. He runs (I speculate) 1-2 of each crystal beast, and one Rainbbow Dragon. Then he's got like 5-6 spells that I dont't remember. But since you need 7 different crystal beasts in the grave/on the field he never gets to that point. Usually he will fill up all his zones if you farm with Cerberus so he never gets to fill his grave or field.
