Tips, related cards, skills

Divine Wrath

Monster activation are getting more and more common, and negating these effects can be crucial to stop their plays, especially since it will also destroy their monster. This will end up letting you special summon Van'Dalgyon and destroying your opponent's monster, for the price of 1 discard.

Magic Jammer

Magic Jammer is a guaranteed trap card to negate your opponent's spell card. You will have to discard a card to use this, but using it when you have Van'Dalgyon in your hand will let you special summon it, and inflict 1500 damage to your opponent.

Seven Tools of the Bandit

Effective for negating most trap cards, but it costs 1000 LP, and can't be used to summon Van'Dalgyon if you negate traps that are activated in damage step.

Ultimate Providence

A versatile counter trap that can negate monster activation, spell, or trap cards, provided that you have the type of card you want to negate in your hand as well. You will have to be more conservative about using, or setting your cards if you want to use this.

Champion's Vigilance

In a Champion's Vigilance deck, this 1 card can negate a variety of cards, making it quite simple to summon Van'Dalgyon if you manage to get it off.

Dark Voltanis

Another card that can be special summoned when you use a counter trap card, but Voltanis comes with another requirement to use. Putting both Voltanis and Van'Dalgyon can work if you are using mostly Dark attribute monsters, otherwise, it can potentially become a dead card in your hand.

[Skill] descriptionUser
Endless Trap Hell
Can be used when you have 3 trap cards in the Graveyard. 1 random Trap Card in your Graveyard is added to your hand. Then, shuffle 1 random Trap Card in your Graveyard into your Deck. This skill can only be used once per Duel.

I guess it doesn't work with magic jammer if the opponent discards ?

It doesn't work, because the activation of m drain is negated :(
<< Anonymous
another question Reply
will dark voltanis work even when magic drain is negated by discarding?
<< Anonymous(another question)

Dark Voltanis works, but Van'Dalgyon doesn't. Tested and proofed

appreciate it bud
Okay does this not work with graveyard negation? I negated a sylvan monster’s effect with divine punishment but nothing happened after that. I thought I had a chance at a comeback but nothing happened.

You can't counter skills that activate in the grave
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
This is incorrect. you *CAN* negate cards that activate in the grave (that is literally what debunk is about). I have no idea why, but the cards really do seem finicky about when they want to activate
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
It's not finicky, it just can't activate in the Damage Step. (Also, why do people respond to ancient posts?)

I will tell you in another 30 days time.
LOL ppl. You all need to realize that Champion's Vigilance decks just got BUFFED with the existence of this card because a negate = free summon.

not really Reply
up until te point that you can't make use of those mere 3 copies of champ vig. this card is still a dead card in your hand, still a very specific situation, would work better with decks that entirely focus on counter traps

I tested and didnt word...

Very circunstancial card...
This + Ultimate Providence could have a lot of versatility. Combos well with Divine Wrath, too. Negate a Sphere Kuriboh or something, discard a monster, Special Summon this guy, and then Special Summon the card you discarded.
<< Anonymous
sphere kuribos Reply
wouldnt work with sphere kuriboh because its in the battle phase.
<< Anonymous(sphere kuribos)
Anonymous Reply
It will work, cause van'dalgyon effect can't be used in the damage step, but sphere kuribo must be activated in the battle step
<< Anonymous(sphere kuribos)
Anonymous Reply
Why would that matter? His effect says it won't activate during the damage step, but it says nothing about the rest of the Battle Phase.
I use it in a fairy deck (with 3 divine punishment) and it works veeeeeery well. It is the strongest card in my deck, too powerfull

What deck do you use?
Maaan this card only works when it wants to work. I negated a trap and it’s effect didn’t even activate. Most of the cards that supposed to activate in response to a counter trap either missed its timing idk how or just glitched out smh

You need to go back to elementary school and learn how to read and understand a text.
Hi,can anyone plz tell me that which phase is actually the damage phase is it my battle phase or mu opponent's battle phase ??
<< Anonymous(Mr,Wheeler)
Vishnu Reply
The damage on negating spell is delivered on the very phase of the game in which concerned spell is negated. that is main phase 1 or 2
This card is dead the time CV got limited. RIP.

sanctuary and divine punishment brought this back tho.
it works extremely well with ultimate providance. ex: your opponent activates any effect monster like relinquished or levia-dragon or parasites from weevil decks or even kuriboh, use ultimate providence to negate it's effect, destroy it and send the strongest monster you have in your hand to the graveyard, then van dalgyon is summoned to the field and you can special summon the monster you discarded... so, 2 monsters on the field that can 🔥 your opponent in one turn.
when you attack, get mirror walled and you use trap jammer or up you can summon him and destroy any card in your opponent side of the field, another 1 turn 🔥 if he only has one monster in his side of the field.
in weevil decks just negate any mask of the accursed (not sure thats the right name) using up or chivalry and it drops your opponent's lp by 1500, again you summon this beast in the field and now you have 2 monsters and another possible one turn kill.
the only down sides of this is that you can only get one and it doesn't work if you negate an effect during the damage step (yomi, ladybug, michizure).

This card might become useful now that the new mini box is out
This card is not that good. At begining I was very exicited to use, but I end with the card in my hand in several duels even with 3 vigilances.

This card can be amazing in the right deck, a combo with a dragon deck, and dragon rebirth plus kidmodo, i got this card, bewd and vanguard with 2200 atk in field,
However you need to be careful to not build a dead hand deck
You all think you can make a deck of this with only 1 copy of this card?
<< Anonymous
DaSwifta Reply
Nah, but you can certainly include this in a deck that uses counter traps like Magic Drain, Magica Jammer, Trap Jammer, Divine Wrath or Vigilance and it's overall a good boss monster for Dragon decks if you tech on a few copies of any of the Cards listened above
