Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by Tributing 3 monsters you control, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Negate the effects of all face-up monsters your opponent controls. Once per turn: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; equip that target to this card, and this card gains ATK equal to half the ATK of that equipped monster (you can only equip 1 monster at a time to this card with this effect).

  • Can increase its attack by taking control of your opponent's monster.
  • Special summon.

Cons

  • Very low defense.
  • Can only be special summoned by tributing 3 monsters.
  • Equipping your opponent's monster takes a slot in your spell/trap zone, which can end up limiting your spell/trap cards, or clog your own field.

Cards that can give you multiple monsters or tokens can quickly let you summon Plasma in a turn. Cosmic Compass is can be a good and quick turn around card even when you have no monsters on the field since you can normal summon into special summon.

But not as hard as Water Dragon. I’m serious here. This guy only requires that you have any 3 monsters out on the field, but Water Dragon requires all 3 spots to be used up with exactly 2 hydrogedons and an oxygedon and have the necessary spell card to summon it while you can end up drawing Water Dragon as a dud that gets in the way of summoning itself.

Water dragon can easily be played in a diamond dude deck..

This guy's summon conditions aren't so hard easy. Go for a venus or hamstrat deck et voila.

......yeah, as if anyone still plays Silent Swordsman LV7.

Also, Plasma is bad because it takes too much to summon. Using Mask Change and Anki is usually the way to go. If you can figure out a consistent deck with cards like Cosmic Compass and Stray Lambs, I guess Plasma can be good with that deck.

It is recommended to clear the field before summining plasma. "Lockdown" methods isnt that effective unless you had other supporting card. In hero deck, masked hero blast might became a good addition in case you already summon plasma. The problem always lies in backrow, believe me.

I also forgot to mention that summoning plasma is relatively easy if you use stratos->faris->vyon->malicious->plasma

Is it bad because it’s difficult to summon, because I legitimately think it’s a cool monster. I’ll admit there are much better options, but I think this guy is far from awful.

destiny hero plasma does not com in Aster Phoenix Starter Deck as it says above, if you look closely thats Destiny hero dogma.

You could combo this with Lava Golem/Volcanic Queen/a Kaiju monster to ensure Plasma gains a lot of attack by stealing them, though the first two take more setup because you can't Normal Summon on the same turn.

That said, you could just duel some Level 10 Legendary who doesn't have Block Attack, and just let Plasma win on auto.

Im actually confused right now. Had this card in my hand turn 1 along with limit impulse. I tried to summon it with the tokens and a sphere kuriboh but it wouldnt work. Can anyone explain?

You can only Tribute the Soul Tokens for Tribute Summons, and you are Tributing monsters to Special Summon Plasma, not to Tribute Summon it.

This is what makes this card so good. It's rather "obscure", not many players use it and don't know of it's negating effect which is very useful.

Hope it continues to be underused, because it makes a good "surprise" to unexpected opponents who don't know of what it can do.

I am confused, when I attack this equipped monster, only the equipped monster dies, not Plasma just like an union monster works! Nowhere on this card does it say it equips as an union. Why is tgis happening?

It's like with Relinquished. First attack will destroy the equiped monster, gotta attack it twice to destroy it.

Relinquished states that the equipped monster is destroyed instead in a battle in its effects, but Plasma does not, like Atmosphere. So, yeah, Plasma should be dead at that time.

I have seen people have 2 of this guy in their decks, and as far as i see you can obtain only a single one by unlocking Aster. WTH?

It wouldn't even if it were a Normal Summon. Most, if not all, monsters that require 3 Tributes (such as God Cards or Steelswarm Hercules) can't be Normal Summoned WITHOUT doing so, preventing Mausoleum being used.

Does this even negate Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman effects?

Buster Blader's effect has no relevance to Plasma's negation in the first place. It's not an activated effect. Plasma will negate Buster Blader, and will do so before it can even change it to Defence. Doesn't matter who controls what, or which hit the field first.
