Tips, Related Cards, Rulings

Bypass protection

This card can remove cards even if they are protected by Card Guard or Magic Reflector, because it will not count as a destruction effect but as a remove from play effect.

Anki OTK

(This OTK is only possible because of a bug that doesn't half Anki's attack when he attacks directly with his effect and Titan Showdown is active.)
Use Cosmic Cyclone to banish a spell/trap card and reduce your LP to make Titan Showdown active, then used masked change to special summon Masked HERO - Anki. Anki is able to attack your opponent directly and because of Titan Showdown he will deal 5600 damage. If your opponent does not control any spell/trap card for you to use Cosmic Cyclone on, you can turn on self-chain. First activate Masked Change on your HERO and then use Cosmic Cyclone on Masked Change, you will still be able to summon Anki with your LP reduced for Titan Showdown.

Banish Key Cards

Some decks require spell/trap cards in their setup to run properly. Cosmic Cyclone is an effective counter against these types of decks because banishing their key spell/trap card usually means they have no interaction with it anymore and would need a to search out a new copy. Here are some spell/trap cards that can be considered key cards in their respective decks.

Aside from the skills mentioned below, using Cosmic Cyclone can also get you closer to activating your Draw Sense skill and Bastion's multiple field skills.

Can be used each time your Life Points decrease by 1500. Add 1 7 Completed card, hidden in your wristband, to your hand. This skill can only be used once per turn and twice per Duel.

Can be used each time your Life Points decrease by 1000. Return 1 card in your hand to your Deck and draw another. This skill can only be used once per turn and twice per Duel.

If MST was added, would it be better than this? It doesn't banish, but it has no LP cost. I know some decks abuse the LP cost for skill usage, but most decks don't rely on that anymore. What are your thoughts?

I have a question... Since it is a quick play spell card, can I chain this to other ST and prevent their effect from being activated? Like say, chain Cyclone to ECON, does ECON effect still activate on my monster?

I'm thinking no but need confirmation from pro gamers here...

One costs lp to activate and banishes the card, the other destroys it.

why does this card not just destroy/ban but also cancel my spell trap cards?? i activate my effect, opponent plays cosmos, effect is canceled, card banned

You should learn how continuous spell or trap and field spell works. This ruling is not just for CC but all S/T remover as well

They need to be face up to ACTIVE AND RESOLVE THE EFFECT. If they somehow remove your card from the field when you active it, it never resolved which mean no effect in the end. You still pay cost btw

The flow somehow looks like this:

Activation--->activation cost--->chaining phase--> resolving phase.

In your case, the gates of dark world never resolve the effect since it was the last to be resolved, and just before it resolved, the card disappear which result nullified the effect.

If you prefer losing the duel due to that one WoD/SRH/MW/FTH than losing just 1000 LP to win the duel, then go ahead, don't use this card.

There's night beam and galaxy cyclone......yeah yeah I know they are as expensive as cosmic. Konami is a master of milking your money: release tons of backrow but just a few backrow removal in terrible boxes -> profit

On the other hand konami offer nice gem discounts on old boxes periodically. I got 2 cc in last gem discount. Also for 5$ you get a cc plus 10 packs.

I believe that all top tier decks should have at least 1 monster card at limit 3 to prevent them from putting this.

The idea of raising LP is to give all tiered decks the chance to get back at the opponent even if you started first or bricked, something that right now is basically impossible, without breaking current decks, which limiting summoning could do. I don't think it's a bad idea though, anything to prevent opponents winning at their first turn when starting second would be good for the game.

Actually from what i have watch, a players turn last forever lol. If you watch a TCG duel you'll miss the old day where " I set a monster, I set a card, I end my turn". Now it's I special summon a monster, I activate this effect, I special summon a monster, I activate this effect, I special summon a monster, I activate this effect, I special summon a monster and it goes on.

One of Konami's biggest mistakes. It is a staple engine for all of the toxic OTK decks in this game. They should errata the Quick-Play status away from it to re-balance it for Duel Links.

The mistake here is the way how skills get triggered just look at those cyber dragon with only 5 monsters in the deck and their pro move of cosmic cyclone their own fusion support spell

The skill mechanic must be reworked completely

I agree that Cyber Style must be reworked completely, but in the far future (again, FAR future), I can see Konami ALSO banned Cosmic Cyclone due to it affecting Skill design. They can't have an easier time designing new Skills if they have to keep accounting for Cosmic Cyclone.

If that happens, then I can see them giving us something like, 1000 gems as compensation, since this is a mainbox UR.

Cosmic cyclone is a balanced card. It is 1 for 1 exchange at the cost of 1000lp. Also, it is in limit 3 list, meaning that most tier decks cant splash it. I dont believe it will ever join banlist. There are far superior cards out there. Also, cc can be utterly useless vs no backrow decks, like lightsworn engine decks.

As for Cyber Style rework, they should have simply made the skill adds 1 copy of Cyber End and 1 copy of Cyber Twin into your extra deck at the start of the duel, but the skill will only activate if your main deck contains at least 10 different "Cyber" monsters.

Honestly, Compared to a card like Twister which is a SR and this is a UR, this is almost on garbage tier. In Duel Links so far, There is no need to banish any spell cards. Just run Twister instead of this.

Bypasses all protections against spell/trap removal other than generic counter traps like Magic Jammer, and STILL makes the user of Brain Research Lab take mass damage despite all the setup made to avoid doing so, by simply activating one card? πŸ”₯.

It’s not trash, it’s an excellent card, activates a lot of excellent effects. Psychics need to set up a lot of cards, so much bs that one single card takes the entire board down.
