If "Castle of Dark Illusions" is face-up on the field, increase the ATK and DEF of this card by 100 points. As long as this "Castle of Dark Illusions" remains face-up on the field, the ATK and DEF of this card continues to increase by 100 points during each of your Standby Phases. This effect continues until your 4th turn after the card is activated.

Call of the Mummy definitely has potential to be a meta card, and Ryu-Kokki is decent enough (especially if we get Pyramid Turtle at some point). Monster Rebone might have some utility at some point too. Great rewards? No, but I wouldn't call them "trash" either.

I agree about variety.I started this game a week ago,made it to gold ranks,and I'm already bored of seeing the same prefabricated tryhard decks,requiring nothing but following the same formula every single time.Probably even less variety at higher ranks?I try to have fun with my tool mishmash deck,but the cocky tryhards trashtalking with their mindless copypaste playstyles make it not so fun.

I'm not upset with these rewards at all. Sure, by no means meta (Except maybe Call of the Mummy), but come on. This is just a fun Halloween event. I confess that Call of the Haunted would have been nice though...

Also, Bonz needs to chill.

My only real thing about this event is that, instead of digging up more DM characters, they should have started fleshing out the GX ones. Titan(who I keep calling Phantom for some reason) from the Shadow Riders arc of GX would've been perfect for a Halloween spook...-er. He used the Archfiends too, cards we have so few of.

Not as an unlock, but a duelist you can just go crazy w/ and better rewards. 'cause what's happening now is that we finally took a step towards advancing the game...only to get shot back for a character I'm really sure no one cares about. Even Keith kicked he tail to the curb after 1 duel, so why the hell even?

I know, just honestly nitpicking at it because folk was still holding out that it wouldn't have been Bonz. He's basically using Odion's cards, which is why I'm sure everyone is having an easy time dueling him as Lv40 Odion isn't hard.

I used a red eyes zombie deck and because of the bonus pack you get as well helps already had a few urs drop in one sesh

Anyone else been playing Ghostricks? They aren't that good competitively, but they're REALLY fun. Skeleton has good mill power, though it is a bit slow. To Skeleton's credit, though, it Banishes cards, making them unusable, whereas regular milling might as well be a plus for the meta (cough cough Machine Angel Absolute Ritual, Red Eyes Spirit/Wyvern, Bacon Saver and Gozuki cough cough). Mummy is a decent swarmer. Ghoul can boost your attack up to 4100 without equip or field spells.

I reiterate: These are by no means top tier, or even tier 2-3. They are, however, incredibly fun to play with, and that's what I like to see in an event.

Current Ghostrick Decklist. 3 of each Ghostrick and three Feint Plans are a must, but Pumprincess and the other spelltraps can be whatever you want.

In his opening dialogue, Bonz mentioned "dipping his toe in" didn't he? At least to begin with.

Anybody else hoping he'll become playable at the end of the event? Feels too much a tease otherwise.

(I know i'm wishful, with so many characters available recently. But I need this Duelist!!!)

Note there's also two Skills coded to his theme already. One seems to activate Zombie World at the start, the other is up to speculation.

I see why you could interpret it that way, but you could also interpret it as he'll just be a roaming duelist till another event; his unlock event, arrives. In any case, I'd bet my prismatic Call of the Mummy that he won't be unlockable this event.

If playing against lvl 30 you don't need the s/t destruction so you can put in more card draw as well as Vassal package instead of Piranha to get that extra 1000 points.

If you run Dimensional Gate and a bunch of De Spell/Storm and he doesn't get it on turn 1, you can use Elements Unite. It's a bit of a gamble though.
