“Gusto” is an archetype of WIND monsters that was originally introduced in Visions of Ice back in May 2018 and that is yet to see any competitive play. One of the main things this archetype was previously lacking was a good Extra Deck to complement the various Special Summoning effects and this exactly what the new Mini BOX Tornado of Phantoms is seemingly trying to provide.
When Normal Summoned, this Level 3 Tuner allows you Special Summon a Level 2 or lower monster from your Graveyard. Thanks to What Grows in the Graveyard, you will begin the Duel with a copy of Dark Verger already there, so Junk Synchron will instantly give you access to a Level 5 Synchro (Daigusto Gulldos or Armades, Keeper of Boundaries).
When Gusto Gulldo is sent from the field to the Graveyard, it allows you to Special Summon a Level 2 or lower “Gusto” monster from your Deck.
You can Set Gusto Gulldo on Turn 1, wait for your opponent to destroy it with a Koa'ki Meiru Maximus, Vampire Kingdom or simply by battle and then Special Summon Winda, Priestess of Gusto from your Deck in Defense Position. When Winda is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, it allows you to Special Summon a “Gusto” Tuner from your Deck (Gusto Gulldo).
Neither Gusto Gulldo nor Winda has limitations when it comes to how many their effects can be activated during the same turn: use this opportunity to set up your Graveyard for Daigusto Gulldos and thin your Deck at the same time.
Keep in mind that, if you use Gusto Gulldo as Synchro Material, its effect will miss the timing because it’s optional (“When...you can…”).
When it attacks or is attacked, Armades prevents your opponent from activating cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step. This Level 5 is able to nullify popular Battle Traps such as Drowning Mirror Force and Wall of Disruption together with the floating effects of cards like Silent Magician and Silent Swordsman.
Another Level 5 Synchro with a pretty powerful effect: once per turn, by shuffling two “Gusto” monsters from your Graveyard into your Main Deck, Daigusto Gulldos allows you to destroy a face-up monster your opponent controls, essentially giving you a way to deal with high ATK monsters such as Koa'ki Meiru Maximus and Cosmo Brain while also preventing you from decking out before your opponent.
You can Summon Junk Destroyer by using Junk Synchron and Armades, Keeper of Boundaries or Daigusto Gulldos. When Synchron Summoned, Junk Destroyer allows you to destroy a number of cards on the field equal to the number of non-Tuner monsters used to Summon it. Junk Destroyer’s effect doesn’t require you to have any particular monsters in the Graveyard and it activates on Summon, which means your opponent won’t be able to use Floodgate Trap Hole or Paleozoic Canadia to prevent it.
Since Pilica, Descendant of Gusto’s effect requires some prior setup and also pretty much forces you to run a Level 2 Tuner, Junk Synchron + What Grows in the Graveyard is the easiest way to Summoning Daigusto Gulldos.
